My blind uncle.

My uncle was blind his whole life and he worked his whole life. He worked in one company on a machine and worked there until he retired. He was legally blind and could see a little. He walked to the store and back with groceries that he had bought. I was really proud of him how he raised two kids and supported them. Once I took him grocery shopping and he was on the electric cart. He was telling me what to put in his cart and than he was gone. I looked all over the store and could not find him. I was to embarrassed to ask for help to find him. How do you loss a blind man in a store. But I did. Than I heard on the intercom to come to the front of the store he was waiting on me. Everyone in the front was looking at me for losing him. He had bought the groceries and was waiting for me. He still was a great man to me. He died in his 90's before his wife. I could tell you more stories about him. He was a character.

That sounds like a trick my husband would have done. What machine did your Uncle do? My husband is blind, also. Due to that he had a hard time finding work for many years. He cared for my daughter when she was very young because I found work at first.

That just goes to show that disability is not a hindrance to live a fulfilling life. His kids must be so proud of him too. That was a funny incident losing him in a shop. :)

Your uncle is very inspiring person! He seems to be incredibly resilient and independent man. It is amazing how he worked his entire life inspite of the fact he was blind. Raising two kids and supporting them with this challenge is no small feat. It shows his love and big heart and how great he was a family man. The grocery store story is both amusing and touching—it shows his determination and sense of humor. I can only imagine the emotions you underwent when you heard his name on the intercom! It’s a testament to his resourcefulness that he managed to finish shopping before you found him. He truly seems like a remarkable person, and I’d love to hear more stories about him. He will be an inspiration to many who knew him!
