I watched one of my favorite movies.

And discovered that it had aged terribly.
The worst part of it is that it was Jailhouse Rock.
I went to watch it with my father when I was 13 years old. Those were the things that my darling Dad did for me although after that I had to accept his singing and moving like Elvis for me. Not in front of other people though.
But as I started to watch it, I could see the outdated clothes. The pants were like big flour bags! And noone could act! And the plot was so predictable!
The only thing left was Elvis´ voice and his movements as much as they could be imagined. I discovered now that it wasn´t Michael Jackson who invented those moon walks but Elvis. As much as we could see them in the movie.
Many years later I watched the last concert that Elvis gave thanks to You Tube. Elvis was very overweighed then. But he had found his voice although he did not have the time to find himself. And that last show was one of the best shows that I have ever seen.
So now, in spite of all the rime that has gone by, in spite of the aging of the movie, in spite of his young death, I say again ELVIS MY LOVE
Are there people here who belong to that time when music changed?

In Jailhouse Rock he was very young. But I think that he was a much better singer than as an actor.

Elvis was not talented in acting by any stretch of the imagination. I was never a big fan, not sure why.

He was a talented singer. AND he was attractive then. But no, he wasn´t a good actor.

@MarieCoyle Celebrities in general live a sort of life I would not live if they pay me. In Elvis case, his manager helped him kill himself.

I do not desire to be a celebrity and never have. It's not a ''real world'' way to live...you can never be anonymous, go anywhere by yourself, etc. That wouldn't be a nice way to live, in my opinion.

His voice was awesome. But he was not treated well during all his short life.

The only good thing about most of his movies are when he sings. And now I don´t like at all there that he was all the time surrounded by dumb women.

I agree with that. All or the singers after him say that he was important for them.

Lots of movies he made didn’t age well. And, in hindsight, it’s funny that he was considered “obscene” then.

I suppose that he sold any kind of movie so nobody tried to have a better script for him.
