Holi, the colourful celebration, is rapidly approaching! This spring festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil and is mostly observed in Nepal and India. ?? During this period, there will be happiness, unity, and, naturally, fun colour battles!
Holi unites people in a beautiful way. Friends, relatives, and even strangers join together to splatter colours, dance to joyful music, and indulge in mouth-watering delicacies like gujiya and thandai. Laughter, joy, and an easygoing attitude permeate the space.
Beyond the lighthearted aspect, Holi holds profound mythological and cultural importance. In the story of Prahlad and Holika, it represents the victory of virtue and fidelity against arrogance and wickedness. As a symbol of this triumph, many people build bonfires the night before Holi (Holika Dahan).
Despite the joy, it's critical to celebrate responsibly, which includes utilising organic colours and being cognisant of personal boundaries and the environment.
Do you have any similar celebrations in your place? Can you recall any particular highlights from this festival? Let's talk about our vibrant celebration and what we've learned.
Happy Holi in advance!

We had a nice Holi Festival at home on Friday.
I hope you too had.
We also have a dinner later on in our society on the occasion of Holi.
However, I do not like it when I see or listen to people playing badly, with water colors that are hard to remove plus in ways that are objectionable.
I read of a news where a female actor was subjected to objectionable advances by a co-star during a Holi party organized by their TV Serial Production House.
She reported the incident to the Police.
Plus in many cases, unwilling people are subjected to being colored badly.
If played properly and in a civilized way, it is a good festival.
And one always remembers that Sholay movie song on this occasion : "Holi ke Din....(On the day of Holi...)"

In my area I saw a few people using some colours that I did not like so did not get out of the house. Enjoyed watching it from my window.
Had read about the incident with the actress. I heard this happens very often at the Holi parties of the film fraternity. Some are reported and some are not.
Another song from Silsila also of Amitabh Bachchan... Rang Barse.....

Yes "Rang Barse..." another all time favorite !
Also "Balam Pichkari.." - Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is also much played!
Better to stay away from those who play madly.
Some are even intoxicated.

Holi is one of my favorite festivals. Thus year we enjoyed Holi in the traditional way. From morning till late evening we celebrated and then had a bath.

Holi sounds like an absolutely vibrant and joyful festival! The combination of colorful celebration, delicious food, and the underlying message of good triumphing over evil is truly beautiful. I love how it brings people together and creates such a sense of unity.
