Hopping down the bunny trail

Freaky how fast time zips on by. I look at the Memories part of Face book and just want to scream. Seven years ago I had my first exploration of this house. My first shaky climbing the stairs to what ended up having a bathroom and my bed. My first wondering: is this it?? Is this old house the very last house that I will buy and live in?? Of course I had my camera. Of course I took shots of the black china door knobs and five paneled solid doors. Feels like yesterday.
Last night we went to the poetry reading. Hubby wanted me to feel good so he gave me the poetry reading. He knows what I need. He urged the Pastor to have a Reading in the churches fellowship hall. It was a fine gathering. A pillar of the community showed up- I think he was better than the mayor. Why? Because the man stands out on the sidewalk by the library every Saturday with a sign. His aim? Peace. He wants peace. It was good to see him, to get to know him. I, too, want peace. Nine people showed and read something- anything from Mary Oliver, famous poet, to their work, their thoughts. Two of the people that showed up were from Olympia, the capitol of our state. They drove in the night about twenty miles each way. We were honored and delighted to have them with us.
Today I am trying to wake up. Nothing new there! There's that shrub that needs to be planted. Arthritis in my hands is talking this morning. Sunshine outside. We will at least start on the hole digging project- before sunset, we will start.

I agree, time is going by way too quickly.

Glad you enjoyed the poetry writing. I really wish I could go to that coffeehouse tommorrow, but I drove a lot today, I can't handle doing more tomorrow.

It always amazes me how many years have flown by. I remember watching the ball drop on the 2000th year. It seems like yesterday.

@LindaOhio Wow there was a ton of woo woo speculation on January 1 of 2000.

Sounds lovely and relaxing. I am not planting anything yet. Wish I had a thousand dollars to spend on plants.

I'm glad you had a good time and a good turnout for the event.
I hope you manage to do more than start with planting the shrub. The sunshine should help your arthritis feel some better.

@DaddyEvil Thanks! The weather is iffy today. Sun then cold rain and wind then a bit of sun. We did get the shrub planted. Hubby is having a much harder time walking on rough ground plus his hands get cold. I used a hoe to dig the ground deep enough- I hope it is deep enough. Then the shrub did not want to come out of its cloth bag and it was heavy. Finally between us the root ball came out. I stomped store compost and extra dirt around it. So glad to have that job done.

Seven years?? How can that be? I remember your posts about it.
