Did anyone go outside to see the ''blood moon?''

What can I say, my family has always been into this kind of thing...my son and I made a point to go out there at 2:10AM to see what was happening. It was dark orange and a beautiful red. Worth staying up for! Unfortunately, it's sort of cloudy here tonight, and although we tried our camera and both phones, the pictures just don't show it. I was rather sad about that.
I am hoping that @Scarred4Lyfe either stayed up or woke up and went out there with all of his good contraptions and took a picture or two to post for us here.
Scar, you awake?

I must have really been tired. I slept from around 7 pm until not quite 3 am tonight. And no, we have too many trees to bother trying to see the sky here.
I'm glad you enjoyed the show. It's too bad you couldn't get a photo to share.

It made us sad, it was really beautiful, the colors were amazing. But we tried so hard and the pictures just didn’t show it well at all. I hope someone got a picture of it to share!!

@MarieCoyle If Michael was awake, you know he'll post a photo he took so you'll still get to see it again. Sometimes he's awake during the night and sometimes he isn't. You never can tell.

Here it was allegedly going to occur between 4 and 6 am. I didn't get up for it though. It was far too likely that it would be cloudy and then I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep! I have seen lunar eclipses two or three times before, and hopefully there will be other opportunities as they are not as rare as solar eclipses.

My sleep pattern is so messed up most of the time that it’s not hard to wake up. But I understand. I have seen some eclipses etc they are worth the time and trouble.

A few other friends took pictures so I did see some. Scar must have been busy, doing Scar-like things.

I needed bed as well, but I couldn't stop myself. Also, the son wanted to see it as well, and we both enjoyed it.

Yesterday I got a wonderful preview as I drove to work. This morning there was so much dust in the air that it only was a muted spot of light on the horizon.

We have a tremendous amount of dust with the wild winds, and the storms aren't even here yet. I was outside a bit ago to bring in the trash can and put it in the garage, and it looks foggy--but it's dust. Be safe, Heather!

Right now we are under so many warnings and tornado watches, etc. it's hard to keep up. I bet we lose power, this wind is terrible.

No, I wanted to see it, but I wasn't going to get up at 12-2 to get up and go outside. I would have enjoyed it from the windows if it was visible..but I was into a good book.

Oh, I know the draw of a good book can keep me from doing a lot of things. One of the best ways ever to spend time.

That sounds like an incredible experience! There's something special about witnessing those rare celestial events firsthand, even if the cameras don’t quite capture the magic.
The deep orange and red hues must have been breathtaking. It’s great that you and your son made the effort to see it together—those are the moments that stick with you.
Hopefully, @Scarred4Lyfe managed to get some good shots! If not, at least you got to soak it all in with your own eyes.
Cloudy nights can be a disappointment, but the memory is what truly counts!

I found some good pictures online so I was happy. It was worth seeing this time, so often here we can't see some things due to clouds.
