Our postwoman left a parcel for us today in our hallway - opened the front door she did and walked right in bold as brass, but it saved us having to answer the door. In the parcel were two packets of freshly roasted and ground coffee. I have fallen into the habit of buying my coffee from this delightful English company that awaits one’s order then starts to roast and grind rather than having a job lot sitting stale and ready to fire off willy-nilly to whomsoever calls first. Experience informs me that coffee bought in supermarkets is rank, and the mingification thereof is off the scale. Can’t get decent coffee anywhere in this miserable backwater called Larne. So my coffee arrived and it shall thrill my little heart tomorrow morning when I take a cup of wife-brewed nectar in the sun-drenched back garden along with said wife. And along with toast and ginger marmalade.
