Dagnabbed Doors!

It's a beautiful day, don't get me wrong, and I am not complaining one bit. The past week has been sunny and warm in the 80s, the furnace hasn't run a lick and the windows are open even if we have to close them at night when it cools back down and MAYBE throw on a space heater.
But the wind today is just NUTS. We're getting gusts of 30-45 miles per hour here right now. I have stuff in my yard that belongs to neighbors—and of course none of its worth a damn.
But it's the DOORS. One by one throughout the rooms of the house. SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!
I keep having to put heavy things in front of them to keep them from slamming shut. Besides the fact that it's kind of abrupt and when it happens it scares the living bejesus out of me!
Oh well. I guess it is what it is. We're supposed to get some severe storms tonight with winds pushing into the 60-70 mile per hour range. The doors slamming might just be the tip of the iceberg.

I sure hope slamming doors are your only problem tonight.

@1creekgirl It can be. I've never actually experienced a tornado personally, and I am not sure I ever want to. The ONLY comforting thing about them is how random they are in what they destroy when they do hit. You still KIND of have odds in your favor.

When a door slams shut in your house, does a window open elsewhere?

I love those few brief periods of time in Florida where it's actually cool enough for us to open our windows and let the fresh air in, but inevitably--just like you experienced--we'll get the ever-startling bang of a door inside the house swing shut from the breeze.
