The Year's First

Today there was rain in the forecast. I knew that. I had fasting blood work at 7:10 this morning. It was about 30 minutes away from home. It was very mild when I left at 6:30 this morning. But, I decided against wearing a raincoat, and just put a light sweater on. Boy, was that a mistake!!! When I got out of the lab, I drove across the parking lot to go through the Tim Horton's drive through. Had to get that coffee and something on my tummy so that I could take my morning meds. Went a little further in the parking lot and visited a new grocery store. While in there I could hear it just teaming down rain, and thundering quite loud. At the cash register I could see it was coming down in buckets. And I was wearing a light sweater, and not a raincoat for the year's first thunderstorm. Not a great choice. After posting this...........I see that the $$ signs are up. Thank you again, myLot and to my friends here for allowing me to see the $$ signs. ~Photo is mine

I'm praying we'll get at least 3 drops of rain soon, it's been way too dry here due to the lack of humidity. Static electricity is such a pain

@rebelann I was just really lucky today. The rain seemed to come down the heaviest while I was inside of the stores, and would let up each time that I had to exit and make my way across the parking lot to unload my cart and load up the car.

It teamed down rain here, I hope that you get your share of it. It came down quickly and couldn't run away very well, there was alot of pooling around the storm sewers as many were blocked with leaves from last fall still.

I just saw that too. That is aggravating when you don't have the right clothes for the weather. I keep a jacket in my car for such possibilities.

We have gone from winter coats to sweaters and rain coats within about 2 week's time here. Working from home, I do not get outside to experience the changes as I should. I walk each evening, but that is a different time of the day.

And on top of the fact that I wasn't wearing a raincoat, I forgot my glasses at home, but had my prescription sunglasses in the car, so wore those on my head until I got into the grocery store. The cashier and I were laughing about my choices this morning.

I don't have much today online but I manage to withdraw my earnings online in a paid market research website and donated some of my earnings there! Have a nice day everyone!

@Juliaacv yes because it's difficult to reach the minimum payout and it takes time.

I always have a light and foldable umbrella in my bag, just in case.

There is a big golf umbrella in the back of our SUV, but I literally have to lean against the back bumper in order to reach it, which I didn't want to do as it was all wet.

Sorry you got wet! I try to leave a windbreaker in my car just for those occasions. But it doesn't help when it comes out of nowhere! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

@Juliaacv I'm ready for the nights to be comfortably warm here now. I think we are good with no more lows in the 30's, so strike out the 40's and I'm very happy!!

@kareng We should still have freezing nighttime temperatures, although not really too much below freezing. It is hard to believe that 11 years ago this past week, we had such a terrible snowstorm that I wasn't able to make it home after work, it was only a 20 minute drive from work, but I, along with 9 other cars, got stuck in a huge snowdrift. Thankfully nobody was hurt and no damages were done, the drift was massive. They closed the road and I had to be pulled out by a tractor and then had to go back into town and I stayed at my brother's place that night. My husband was coming home from the other direction, and a cop waved him over as the road that he was on was closed and he had to turn around and go back to the little town close by and sleep at a friend's place. it was a huge storm.

It would do us some good to get rain. But I’m sorry you got drenched! I’ve got fasting blood work to do Monday. I’ve put it off too long, and the doctor was not happy with me.

I have a doctor's appointment next Wednesday. My doctor, who I have only been a patient of since last May or June, is closing his office this month. He has a family emergency which has caused him to make a very difficult decision to close his practice. I am sure that it will be an emotional appointment, as I am very thankful to have him as a doctor, and he is such a very compassionate and caring health care provider.

Thanks, I took that picture from our back deck from the house that we lived in for over 20 years. We had great views, but it was nice and remote and private just the same.
