I'm in a bad mood now

I had talked about on here before that I was interested in selling books. I have a few possibilites here. However, it seems the best choice to sell them is on Amazon with a seller account. Amazon offers and individual account and a business account in order to do this. The business account is 39.99 per month, whereas the seller account just costs .99 per transaction. Well get this, you have to pay the 39.99 up front even if you choose the individual account and then you have to apply for reimbursement! What a pain in the butt. Obviously, they want to charge you for setting up this account, and hope you will fail to follow up with the reimbursement. I have my money tied up this month, with my car insurance, large electric bill and a Myrtle Beach trip. Giving 40 bucks to Amazon is not something I am going to do. Sigh! Maybe at some point in the future.

@snowy22315 I sure hope it is a good one. I have some books to sell as well. I think I actually read about this on Rat Race Rebellion. They usually only post vetted opportunities.

That doesn't really sound like much of a choice, you pay alot either way.

Very annoying. Like it would kill them to allow someone to sign up for an individual account! So mercenary!

I sold a lot of books on Ebay in the late 90's. But then they changed a lot of things, and it was going to cost me a lot more, unless the books were big money, it wasn't going to work with any profit for me. I have never sold anything on Amazon. Do you live close to a vintage bookstore? Sometimes they will buy books.

These aren''t old books. I might be able to. Sell a lot of them on FB marketplace..but if they didn't sell them I WOuld have them sitting around. Maybe, I will be able to sell a textbook. On one of the other book buying sites. I will be in town tomorrow. I will check the thrift shop. There are some threads online on Reddit about this

Have you looked at Ebay? You can set up an account for free and sell there with just a seller's fee going to Ebay. There is a listing fee also, but it is waived at a certain point. I get 250 free listings a month, more than I need.

Not thrilled with that at all. Not about this, but I also found they charged two things on my credit card they weren't supposed to.. Got it straightened out I think but Amazon is on my S**t list.

@andriaperry Some people who are big volume have a regular sellers account where they aren't charged per transaction..but I am just getting started with this, and have to see how it goes, not about to make a big monetary commitment.
