How much are you willing to pay for a pillow?

I noticed my pillow needed replacing. It looks like the material has gotten snagged on something, and it has rips. Since I got it for free to review, I thought okay, I’ll just look it up, and buy another of the same kind. After all, it’s the most comfortable pillow I’ve ever had. So I look it up, and see it is $50 per pillow. I am not paying that much for a pillow. How much are you willing to spend on a pillow?

Yes, that is enough to refill two 13kg gas cylinders here in Kenya!

I know, what on earth would make it that expensive? Just because the material is “organic”? That’s crazy.

$50 !?! Yeah, no. The most I would be willing to pay is maybe $20.

Maybe if I can save up a few gift cards for it to cut down the cost it wouldn’t be so hard to bring myself to buy it.

If it was the most comfortable pillow I've ever had, I'd be tempted to pay that much. Otherwise, no. I'd stick to under $30. Good bed pillows are hard to find these days.

Probably no more than 10 or 12. I found one at IKEA for 3 bucks..It isn't good for sleeping, but possibly travel or maybe if you had to cushion your arm or something

$50 is already a big amount for us here. A dollar is already equivalent to over 57 pesos here so for a pillow worth over 2000 pesos is so much for me. Am willing to spend below 1000 pesos for a pillow let's say just over 500 pesos that would be equivalent to $25.

I have a pillow that’s good for side sleepers and people with back backs and necks. It was less than $30 on Amazon, and it’s worked very well.

I have no idea what they cost here. I haven't bought one for ages. I don't know how I have come to have so many but I won't need to buy one for a while.

Most pillows here at the market costs $2. But at the mall the price is higher.

I love a good pillow to sleep on. My oldest girl bought me 2 new ones for my birthday this year, they are wonderful. I know they aren't cheap, but $50 for one pillow does seem like a lot to me, too.

Funny that you mentioned this, I have to replace our pillows, I always do that every year when spring comes. I get large pillows, made from wool that are super sturdy, and well, they last for a year. The run around $100 when they go on sale. It might sound like alot, but they last for a whole year and they are supportive, I need that since my whiplash a few years ago. Lucky you to be able to test one and get it for nothing, it sounds like a good pillow.

I’m crossing my fingers and I ordered another free pillow to review. It won’t be the same kind, but I figured this was as good a way to try a new one. As long as it’s free it seemed worth a go. I also feel like you just gave me the okay to buy a $50 pillow if I needed to.

I would pay more for a good pillow than a lot of other things. It makes such a difference in how I rest. Was that pillow really comfortable? Maybe you could find something similar at a better price. One thing I would not splurge on again is My Pillow. We didn't like that type at all. I have a latex foam now that I really like and Dale loves a good feather pillow. Not me, it gets too flat.

Yeah, it was really good for the arthritis in my neck. I’m sure there is something out there just as good, but undoubtedly cheaper. I heard those My Pillows weren’t good, but I know a lot of people who tried them.

I haven't been able to find a pillow that is comfortable in a long time. I would probably pay $50 if the pillow was exactly what I needed. But, that's probably more than I would normally look to spend when looking for a new pillow. Hope you can find a cheaper one that works.

@Marilynda1225 It wasn’t comfortable for my neck, unfortunately , but like you said, it didn’t hurt because it was free after all.

@AmbiePam at least you are getting one for free and don't have to spend money to see if it works or not. Hopefully the new pillow is just want you need

Well I would say not that much... but you did say it's the most comfortable you ever had, and sleep certainly is important, so if it made a significant difference to how well I slept then perhaps I could be persuaded. When you think about how much you could spend on a meal out, for example, or a few drinks, and that's only one night, well a pillow that will last a lot longer and benefit your health and well being sounds like a better investment! Having said that, is there any way you could repair or re-cover the first pillow?

I don’t think so, but I should ask my stepmom just in case. The way the material is adhered to the “stuffing” would make it too difficult, I think. It doesn’t hurt to look into it a little more though.

I can relate to that. It is frustrating when you find a perfect pillow, then you see the price tag and realize it is way too expensive. Comfort is important, but $50 for a single pillow does seem like a lot. When I did my search, I got one here at around $18, but then here we could get pillows way cheaper but I was not getting sleep using the affordable ones. I’d probably try to find a similar one at a lower price before committing to that much. Or look to bargain or get a discount on same. At the same time, a good pillow can make a big difference in sleep quality, so it might be worth the investment. Personally, I’d be willing to spend around $15 to $30 on a pillow, depending on the quality and comfort. Good Luck!
