These Gulmohar flowers are often called May Flowers as they bloom in the month of May I have great memories as we got our holidays around that month and school was closed. But we had some recreational activities in the school. We saw these trees in flower at that time The roads were lined up with these trees and the view used to be spectacular. These flowers have a light aroma and each time I smell them it takes me back to my school days Image Credit:

I associate them with fun times as we went to school for recreational activities at that time of year.

I used to see them on my way to school when I was a child. My best friend would stop us on the way then she said the end of the flower where you pluck it tasted like sugar. So we used to lick the end of the flower on our way back home. Turns out what we tasted was nectar but we didn't know.

Gulmohar flowers truly have always had a special charm. I was not aware they only bloom in May. Their bright red and orange hues make the streets look breathtaking. It’s amazing how certain sights and scents can bring back childhood memories so vividly. I also loved seeing the flowers while going to School and outside. It made the environment look more colourful. School holidays were always a fun time. The recreational activities made them even more enjoyable. So, among all that, seeing Gulmohar trees in full bloom must have been a beautiful part of that experience. The light fragrance of the flowers was special. These days however, I get to see these flowers rarely. Good memories though!
