Vitamin Supplements Expiration.

I wonder until when can you drink vitamin supplements after expiration date? Some says up to 6 months after expiration. Some says up to a year after. But what do you think? I saw a supplement here but it is nearing expiration and I'm sure it will last more than the expiration date.

It depends on whether the supplement was opened and how it is being stored that can affect the rate that it loses potency. You might like to read this article: I will tell you it doesn't mention liquid supplements, though.

I think 2-3 months would be the limit for me.

The only meds I never take over the expiration date are antibiotics and eye drops. And Istore all of them the best way possible. Even if they are not expired they can be bad if not stored properly. But usually the vitamin jar will not last for years if you are taking your vitamins daily.

I sometimes wonder why the expiration date is mentioned when they can be used even later

When it comes to vitamin supplements, I prefer not to take them past their expiration date—even if it’s just a week or a month. For me, it’s not worth the risk, even though they’re probably still safe. While most supplements don’t spoil like food, they can lose potency over time. Some may still be effective months or even years after expiration, depending on storage and type, but I’d rather play it safe and stick to the expiration date.

Yes, I read that too that loses its potency as it passed by its expiration date

I have read before that the supplements are good for six months and you should not take them after that.
