When I saw the headline of the story under the odd news section, I thought that the deceased giraffe that was in the back of a pickup truck on Thursday February 27 may have committed a crime.
What happened what the pickup truck driver who is Darren Wehner who works at the St. Clair Flats Taxidermy mentioned that the deceased giraffe was picked up at a zoo due to old age and natural causes was being hired to preserve the deceased giraffe to be preserved for a museum.
Thank goodness that the reports of the deceased giraffe near Detroit Michigan was not an act of a criminal.

@Deepizzaguy .......It is sad that we usually do think the worst instead of the best of people nowadays.

I am in agreement with you since I thought that the giraffe was a victim of a hunter.

I would be scared if I saw a deceased body of a deceased giraffe in the back of a pickup truck, I would be scared.

I suppose the zoo can verify that the animal was legally acquired and that their main goal is its preservation. However, what seems to be unsettling is that it wasn’t properly covered or displayed in a way that would prevent misunderstandings from passersby. People who see it without context might react negatively, assuming the worst.
That being said, taxidermy is actually a great way to honor and preserve the legacy of an animal. When done correctly, it allows future generations to appreciate its beauty and significance. Placing it in a museum or a dedicated exhibit would ensure that it is well taken care of and showcased in a dignified manner, allowing people to learn about its history while seeing it preserved in its former glory.

That's a heavy load for a pickup truck.
Maybe the driver did commit a crime, as any load with something sticking out like that, should have a red flag tied to it to alert other drivers of the overhang.
