I Left The Water On While I Was Brushing My Teeth

I know better, I really do.
There are so many places without access to clean water and we're not supposed to waste it.
But I was multi-tasking doing something (I don't remember what) while brushing my teeth and totally forgot that I left the spigot open.
Do you let the water run while you brush your teeth or do you turn it off until it's time to rinse?

It's usually running. I look at it this way, there's exactly the same amount of water on Earth as we started with. It doesn't go away. And when we run the spigot, it makes a full circle back to us, down the drain, back to the source, pumped back into the system and to the spigot and round and round it goes.

I tend to do it both ways, but probably tend to let it run more than not.

Yeah, I’ve done that before too. It’s one of those things you don’t even realize until it’s too late. I try to turn it off but sometimes I forget too.

No, but for 10 years my bathroom sink had a never ending drip. Maintenance wouldn’t fix it until the drip turned into a mini waterfall, and Housing said fix it. Turned out this whole time it was a rotted pipe. Which is why my sink always turned black, and bleach only fixed it for a couple days before it turned jet black again. Chateau Ghetto is where I live.
Pity the other available places either have roaches or bed bugs. I checked.
The other two places are full up. Not like they’re fine places to lay your head.

I let it run. I feel guilty but I can´t help it. I save water in other ways but I can´t do it when I brush my teeth.

I leave it on. I usually end up having to wash off my hand, and I use the running water to rinse.

I make sure that the water is turned off after I either take a shower and brush my teeth since I am afraid of not turning off the water and read my water bill being huge.
