A handsome young buck!

I have heard or read this phrase used as a description of a lively young man in the past – more often in historical contexts it has to be said, rather than in contemporary use – but today I had a visit from the genuine article – a young roebuck!
He came strolling along and stopped to nibble the fresh young geranium leaves right under my window. When he was startled he leapt away in a flash, but then came back again and took his time wandering around the garden.
I think he is quite probably the same one who first came to visit with his mother back in 2023, and then came with her again, plus a younger sister, last year. Now he’s all grown up and such a handsome chap!
I know there are too many deer destroying the young trees, and they are a nuisance when they eat my flowers, but who could fail to find this one appealing?

@Fleura I have a biggish garden but when I sow some seeds in a pot the birds will come only for that

I'm sure he'd look even better in your freezer. Venison is always good!

@changjiangzhibin89 Muntjac are native to south and south-east Asia, they were introduced here. Roe deer are a European species.

Sadly I don’t recall ever being called a handsome young buck.
Cheeky young whippersnapper, definitely.
That’s a great shot! All I get in my garden, apart from birds, are squirrels trying to hide/find their nuts!
