And So This Happened...

Remember my plan for the afternoon was to restock at the boutique here in town and then head out to the flea market? I got ready to leave and couldn't find my car keys. My husband drove my car last when we went to McComb. He usually attaches the Fob to his key ring. My usual place to put my car keys is on the nightstand on his side of the bed. That is so we can both get to them easily and out the door. So this entailed a SEARCH for my keys. Not on the nightstand, not under the bed, not in his pockets, not in the hall bathroom. He is now getting concerned and started his own search on the nightstand, floor around it and under the bed. Still no keys. I walked out to my car and found the door open/unlocked. We always lock our vehicles! I get in the car and look down in the cup holder and what do I see? My keys. He left my keys in the car unlocked!! So this delayed me leaving, but I left anyway and thought I would have plenty of time. I restocked at the boutique here in town and then got on the highway. I was ready to strangle the man after four days of searching for my lost cell phone. At least I am totally innocent this time!! When is the last time you have lost your car keys? @kareng I was able to get my car keys safely the same day since the garage door to protect the car from being stolen was closed but I get able to get inside the garage where the car was safely.

I found my cell phone on the 5th day of being missing. That was why I was going somewhere. I won't go out of town here in the country without my cell phone. I put a post up about it!

What a relief that they remained in the car and that car wasn't stolen. We have a nice little wooden box on a little console table in our entryway where we put our keys. You literally want to put your keys down when you walk in, and they go into the box and you take them out when you leave. A few weeks ago I opened the box and was shocked to see just the fob for the car, not the one for the truck. I immediately asked my husband, and he said, oops, I forgot them in my coat pocket. Now I always check after he leaves that they are still there, so that I am not stranded, and after he returns home. We've been doing this for decades, I cannot imagine how he is having difficulty with this arrangement now.

@kareng Sometimes I think that they 'check out' and enter the twilight zone and do silly things.

I have never lost my car keys. The keys all go on the hooks in the kitchen next to the service door to the garage. No matter who uses them or what happens, the keys always go right here no matter what and are never lost.

We have a box, but it has all the lawn mower, tractor and other equipment keys in it on the wall behind our back door. Never had a problem with car keys before. He likes them withing reach in case of emergency. You know....the cop in him.

@kareng I just find the hook thingy on the wall makes it very convenient and easy to always put them there when we are done with them. But everyone has their own method, of course.

It's so easy to do - put something down and get distracted and go off doing something else. I'm glad the keys turned up.

I misplace them often. I have a stupid habit of leaving them in the door lock when coming home from grocery shopping. Getting the food in the refridge and unpacking the items is the blame. Not a good habit it's like saying come on in and rob me.

This key is exactly the same as my car key
