When Do You Get Dressed?

I tend to be an early riser, usually getting up around 5am or 530am, and rarely sleep in. I like to have the whole day ahead of me. It wasn't always this way for me. In my younger years I was a night owl, and long preferred second shift over any other shift offered. I've been an early riser now for at least two decades, and I think a bit longer than that. It mainly changed for me when I suddenly found myself on first shift when I was working for Coca-Cola, and I simply never looked back. As for when I get dressed, it depends on what I have to do. But generally speaking I usually get dressed around 9am or so, just wanting to be prepared for my day and refreshed. When do you get dressed? As soon as you get up or do you wait a little bit? I even get dressed when I have no place to be.

If I'm not going anywhere I stay in my comfy clothes. If I am I get dressed right before I head out. Obviously on a work day I get dressed early right after my shower and before I head to work.

"Comfy clothes" for would be pajamas. I am not one to tool around in even sweat pants. Almost always a tee shirt and a pair of jeans unless it's summer, then it's a tee shirt and a pair of shorts.

@porwest I'm good for a long-sleeved T and sweats or shorts when I'm just hanging around here.

@NJChicaa I guess for me, sweats just never have been my thing.

I've always got clothes on although not all my clothes are fit for going out and about where people might get a whiff of me

For me it's either clothes or pajamas, and USUALLY something suitable if I had to go somewhere. There are always exceptions.

Noiw that I´m retired I shower and get dressed very late, after I have done all my chores. When I worked, it depended on what I had to do during the day.

@porwest I was always a night owl. I had to get up early for work but did not like it. Now I get up late, do my chores and only then take my shower and get dressed.

I guess I am just a man of routine and habit. Maybe one day I will break out of that? Then again, the older I get the more set in my ways I become.

@marguicha I was a night owl when I was younger. That changed the older I got.

If my face is washed, my hair and teeth are brushed and I'm wearing a bra, then I'm dressed. Even if my "house clothes" look exactly like pajamas

@porwest I do shop at Walmart though it's rare. I treasure our local businesses. Funnily enough, the people I see shopping at Walmart are the same people I see at the high end shops. There are only so many people in a small city and only so many shops.

5/5:30am is too early for me lol. I prefer to get up around 8am. Although that doesn’t always happen. Sometimes I turn off my 8am everyday alarm and fall back asleep.

I rarely sleep; and when I do, it's in my casual clothes. I can answer the door at any time without being worried about how I'm dressed.

@porwest I wear a cotton short sleeve top and very stretchy loose fitting pants. I sit in my recliner, so I don't move around if I should happen to fall asleep.

I find it uncomfortable to sleep in my regular clothes, personally. Of course, I have done it on rare occasion.

@LindaOHio I could see how that could pass to sleep in. Not like you're wearing jeans or something like that to bed.

Today, I did not get dressed. I am doing house stuff, have not even been outside and I took a nap. I also have done some meal prep for the next week or so. No need to get dressed to dry laundry, fold laundry, cook, etc. But in the past I never would have done this. I had a headache for a large part of the day. Usually I am dressed before 6 a.m.

I’m similar in that I like to be up and ready for the day, even if I don’t have anywhere to go But this is not everyday. There are days that I don't get dressed and just be lazy

@porwest I get showered etc and dressed as soon as I get up. Can’t have people wandering about the house in the jammies.

I do wait just a little bit. It's rare I have a day when I don't get dressed at all, but it has happened.

I'm not a morning person. Unless we're going to church or somewhere that we're leaving the house for, I sometimes don't get dressed until mid morning.

For me, it all depends on the situation, what I have planned for that day, and for who else in the house.

I don't know. I guess if I don't get dressed, I feel lazy. Even if I get dressed and do nothing. lol

I get dressed as soon as I get up. And I never don't get dressed unless I'm ill and staying in bed.

Like you I'm an early riser; too. Usually I feel comfortable in casual cloths. I get dressed just before I open my store. It is around 8.30 a.m. In summer I wear light dresses.

I guess if that is what works for you, hey, who am I to pass judgement on you, right? We all have our routines and habits.

Since I live with my daughter, I'm always wearing shorts and sleep in shorts. I usually sleep during the daytime and am awake at night. I take my morning meds around 5:30 am, eat something and then go to bed... I don't sleep well so am up every two to three hours and check into myLot when I wake up. If we have something we need to do outside the house, then I actually put on clothes that won't embarrass either one of us and out we go.
