Today morning I came to know about a massive earthquake that devastated Myanmar and Thailand. The intencity of the earthquake was 7.7 at ricter scale.
My heart is deeply pained for those who died or get injured. The number of deaths is in thousands.
My town is located at zone 3. That means we might have a mild earthquake anytime...
Earthquake is the natural calamity I'm most afraid of. It may occur all of a sudden.
What is the natural disaster you are most afraid from ??
Myanmar is our eastern neighbor We share our borders.

@Shivram59 Tornadoes are the most unexpected here, but we also get our fair share of hurricanes. At least we know they are coming and can prepare for them.

Of course; it's very very sad. Myanmar is our eastern neighbor. We are with our neighbor in these hard times.

I saw the videos in news channels. It all was so horrible and shocking. Myanmar is our eastern neighbor. We share borders. Such a massive earthquake so close to us is a warning signal for us as well. Delhi is located in zone 5 which is highly earthquake prone. Imagine what may happen if such a massive earthquake hits our country.
My town is in zone 3.Ours is a area where mild earthquake may occur. But who knows what will happen and when. I have experienced an earthquake that was mild and lasted for only two or three seconds; but in those two seconds the whole town came in open on the streets. That night people slept in grounds and refused to enter their houses.

There are tornadoes here but they go around our city so we sit on the front porch and watch them.
I thought I read that there were two earthquakes a few days ago. One big one and one not quite as big.

@Shivram59 Yes, the aftershocks were lighter. When the story about Myanmar first came out, there was talk of a 4. something earthquake and then talk about a 7. something earthquake. I don't know if a machine got the first number wrong or if there was only a misunderstanding in the article I read.
And yes, over two hundred aftershocks have happened in that area since then.
I hope you don't feel any earthquakes.

@DaddyEvil As I learned from the news; the earthquake was of 7.7. Then the aftershocks were of around 5..
.I don't know what was the machine's first reading. When I switched on the TV; it was all over. What I saw was only a disaster.A massive disaster. Very shocking and horrible.

,Not only one; many more earthquakes came recently. Fortunately they were mild and there were no casualties.
But Myanmar is our eastern neighbor. We share borders. I'm afraid about our future. My area; however;; falls in zone3 where we may have mild earthquakes.
