I wear sandals or beach flipflops most of the time and they really don't smell. Now, if I'm wearing an athletic shoe the case may be different. I usually take them off at the patio and leave them there until I'm sure they have aired out properly.

I rarely wear closed shoes. Usually it's open sandals, so no probs.

I had one pair of shoes that stank really bad...cause i didn't wear socks with them. But I got rid of them, and now wear socks with my shoes. LOL

I have had shoes that really started to stink when I wore them many days in a row, particularly if I didn't wear socks or stockings. I try to make a concerted effort to air shoes out for at least a day before I wear them again to guard against this.
