Pollen (and Allergies) in Full Force

I came across this hilarious meme on Facebook today, and it speaks volumes of truth! I admit, down here in the southern part of the US we're not as cool as the northerners who get to shovel and plow tons of snow each year, but we in the south are a close second with our pollen. And yes, sometimes it feels that we need some snow blowers and snow shovels and snow plows to remove all the pollen that rains down on us during the spring!
I heard on the radio that 2025 is already the worst pollen season on record, and we're not even through the spring yet. Thirty-nine states have already reported record pollen levels. Unbelievable. Just when the weather gets nice enough to spend time outside, we remain trapped as prisoners in our homes for fear of itchy/watery eyes, non-stop sneezing, and hay fever symptoms, all because of the pollen.
Is the pollen bad where you live? I washed my truck this morning to get the thick yellow coat of pollen off of it, but within a half an hour it was covered in a yellow blanket again. It's a losing battle right now to keep fighting it, but it's also impossible to drive when you are looking through a windshield covered in a thick, yellow goo.

I figured you would get a good laugh on this one! No, not much snow at all compared to what you are used to!

@moffittjc Here in Ontario, may parts east of where I am (in the GTA and from Cottage Country-Muskokas to Lake Ontario) they are getting pounded with a bad ice storm.
Here in London it is just raining.
No ice, no pollen, just rain.
That would wash away your pollen problem.

@Juliaacv We're going to get plenty of rain tomorrow. 75% chance of rain. It will definitely wash away the pollen, at least temporarily.

It's the same here. You can see it in the air it's so thick.

@moffittjc I really don't remember it being like that before in the past, do you?

@kareng No, not this bad. It’s shaping up to be a really bad pollen season. I wonder why it’s so bad this year?

We're in the thick of it now, and it will probably still be around for another month. It's horrible, so I'm glad it's not bad there in OK yet.

Wow, you only got three inches of pollen? I think we've gotten six inches just since this morning!

Consider yourself lucky. It's so thick here in Florida that we can cover up with it like a blanket.

It is so sad when the pollen count is high and you know you will suffer

And I am suffering greatly right now. The sneezing, itchy/watery eyes, clogged sinuses...it makes it feel like I have the flu.

Just do what we do and sneeze the pollen off the vehicles and wash the windows with your own goo...
Yes, the pollen is already bad here and we're just getting into Spring now.

@moffittjc That's TMI!
It stormed here this morning and it's supposed to storm with high winds and hail this evening/overnight with possible tornadoes. Just come catch a tornado and take it home with you. It can clean up all the pollen in a little while.
We're supposed to have highs in the low 60s for a few days now with more storms for the next week.

@DaddyEvil We have a 75% chance of rain tomorrow, so at least some of the pollen will wash away...temporarily. Every time it rains, it causes another round of pollen when the trees start greening and blooming again. Hmmm....maybe a good twister is exactly what we need to get rid of all that pollen for good.

The goo that comes out of my nose when I sneeze is just as yellow as the pollen on my windshield. There's no winning in that respect.
Over the next week our temps are going to soar into the lower to mid-90s, making it feel like we're more closer to summer than spring. Our only saving grace is low humidity right now.

I definitely do that on my truck. I even bought a squeegee so that I can clean my windshield on my truck every morning.

@Dena91 Count yourself blessed. I love nature and all, but these trees have to find a better way of reproducing! LOL

I'm lucky. Knock on wood. I am only bothered when the pollen count is abnormally high. I live next door to a nursery that has dozens of trees in bloom in the spring.

Lucky you! My spring allergies are always bad. I think they've gotten worse as I've gotten older.
