We Only Spent $19

Well, we went to the Man Cave Expedition today at the county fairgrounds, and it was a good time just walking around and seeing what they had to offer. It was mostly LED signs, metal signs, beer cans, beer bottles and things of that nature. One beer can we saw was from a Waukesha, Wisconsin beer that they wanted $50 for. Holy moly! There was one booth that was a local company selling a Bloody Mary mix. It was $15 for a small jar of about 32 ounces. We don't even really like Bloody Marys, and there was no way I was paying $15 for it. But being it was a local business, and they gave us free samples, we at least bought a koozie for $4. Still overpriced for a koozie, but hey, you're supporting a local business nonetheless, so what the hell? It was fun seeing the stuff and so the money we spent to get in was worth it. We didn't buy anything but the koozie. We paid for mom's admission, so the whole excursion only cost us $19. Not bad.

I didn't think so, either. We walked around the Expo for about an hour and a half to two hours, and that's all we spent and still had fun walking around. I'd call that a win.

@kaylachan If we still had the pub room we had in our house in Wisconsin, I'd have likely bought something. But I don't have a pub room in the current house.

Ours never has a fair, but lots of expos and flea markets. Kind of a small fair anyway. A far cry from the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds we are used to.

At least it was fun! I don't like shopping events that charge an admission to come in and look. To me that is just wrong!

@porwest Right! And some booth fees here are $200 or more! That's a bit stiff!

Most things they do there are free, so I am not sure why they charge for some things and not others. The boat shows, RV shows and flea markets are all admission free. I mean, heck, the people doing the shows already pay for their booths.

Not bad at all. When we go to shows here you get a $1 off admission if you bring a can of food.

I guess that's a good deal in that it helps someone in need, but of course, when you consider the cost of the can, you're really not saving any money on the admission.

Sounds like a fun outing. That Bloody Mary mix also seems overpriced, but at least you got to try a free sample.

Neither my wife or I are big fans of Bloody Mary anyway.

It really was. Sometimes it's just enough to have an excuse to get out of the house for a bit. The fact it didn't cost hardly anything was just an added bonus.
