Storming...

We're having a thunderstorm right now in my part of Missouri. There is a lot of lightning/thunder and pouring rain. There is also a lot of really strong winds (18 mph with gusts up to 35 mph). I heard our trash bin scooting across the yard and ran out and dragged it up against the house so it wouldn't go visiting the neighbors.
The storms are supposed to continue until after 8 am today with more storms moving through this afternoon.
The temp is 63F/17C at 3:45 am. The predicted high for today is 65F/18C.
What's happening in your part of the world today?

I hope everything is okay at your house with no flooding.
This is the time of year when we get a lot of storms moving across the US from West to East and tornadoes are born from the storm winds.
You can come visit today and enjoy the storms with lightning and thunder with us.

Sometimes the winds make the garbage can go across the street or even down the street. I once found it by the neighbors door across the street. And that was after I looked for it and couldn’t find it.

The winds here usually try to take all the trash cans on our street into a field at the end of the street. When that happens, I gather up all the trash cans and bring them back into our yard and the neighbors can just get their trash cans here without having to chase into the field for them. (Our house is next to the last one on the street.)
Don't you love chasing your trash can around?

@lovebuglena I don't want to have to go too far to bring the trash can back home. I'd rather catch it as soon as I realize the wind is strong enough to take it away.
I'm glad you finally found it.

@DaddyEvil I never chase them around lol. However, there have been instances where the trash can was playing hide and seek with me and I couldn’t find it. Not until a few days later.

Thank you. I'm sure everything will be fine here. I've got the curtains on my bedroom windows drawn back so I can watch the lightning flash and the rain pour down.
I hope you have a lovely day.

We have spring here in our town. Weather is pleasant. Neither hot; nor cold and not rainy either. We are aaiting for summer which is about to set in by the end of the week.

@Shivram59 We can get heavy rains any time during the year. We don't call that a "season".
It is storming today and is supposed to keep storming through the weekend. I hope that forecast is mistaken.

Oh, wow! We've just officially started spring here. We'll have weather that could be found logically in winter or in summer. Only Mother Nature could come up with the wild weather.

@DaddyEvil We have as many as six seasons in our country. Now it is spring end. Summer will follow and then we will have rains. Heavy downpours.

Looks like quite a tough time for you. I hope that you are safe and sound.
Here we had a few days when the mercury almost touched 40 C.
Yet cooler winds have moderated it to a bit.
The worrying part is the lack of rains since almost 1.5 months.
It does not rains much in February and March yet it is not almost rainless as well.
Perhaps not a much bright indicator !

I dread low rainfall because it could lead to future prospects of water problems.
Yet very heavy rains often cause waterlogging and even partial flooding.
Higher population density brings its own set of problems.
Plus inertia by the authorities.

Wow! That is already HOT in your part of the world! I hope you get some rain soon!
The advanced predictions here are that we'll have a long, hot summer with little rainfall. I'm not looking forward to that.

@DaddyEvil here we never flood, but our family in a place some distance away experiences it and they have to clean up the remaining mud and raise their belongings so that they don't get hit by the water and they have to look for temporary shelter.

It's been storming again here this morning. Some areas are flooding... Just not at our house. The culvert at the end of our property is full again, though.

@DaddyEvil Yes, another dry and hot summer season ahead.
With that huge drop in temperature, are you fearful of more ice?
I hope that you remain to stay safe, the forecast is obviously incorrect for this storm.

@Juliaacv No, we're not cold enough for it to ice over. It's about 13C right now.
Thanks. The storm stopped but it's still cloudy and nasty looking outside.

Thank you. We're fine but the storm rages on. It just hailed and then started storming harder. The forecast suggests the storms will be over by around 8 am. Which it is that time now and they aren't gone yet.
We just had an 8 degree F drop in the temp in the last hour. It's getting chilly outside.
I'm glad you aren't getting bad storms. Rain is always good, especially since the prediction for the US and Canada is for an unusually dry summer this year.

Everything is fine here, thank you. The wind just likes to make noise against the house.
We just had a cold day here with the high today being 50F/10C. It's still cloudy and we're supposed to have more storms starting early in the morning and going for the next several days.
I hope you get some cool breezes soon.

I did make it to my doctor appointment this morning and was prescribed some pain meds. And, after I told the doctor I'd see a chiropractor tomorrow, she said they should be able to fix my back,

We’ll be getting storms later. A meteorologist from Tulsa posted a video of storm winds so strong they moved a plane. NOT a little prop “learn to fly” thing, a commercial jet. Wowza.

I believe I saw that clip on a YT video I was watching.
I'm glad we didn't get a tornado warning during the storms. I hope nobody sees tornadoes from these storms.
We had a thick fog for a while after it stopped raining this morning but the fog is gone and the sun is shining now.

The bright sunshine most days sounds nice... We're in tornado season right now. We had tornado watches during the night but none were spotted.
I hope you don't see any hurricanes this season. Good luck!

You got really lucky, in my opinion. We keep getting new storm cells moving through and just got some good sized hail. I opened the curtains in my bedroom and watched the hail bounce off the windows and sidewalk in front of the house.
None of the weather apps on my laptop or phone are showing how much rain we've gotten during the night. I'd really like to know.
Edit to add: We just dropped 8 degrees in about an hour from 63F to 55F.
