Hi, I made it through surgery ok, but I'm having a rough time healing. It is taking me a longer time than I anticipated to recover my energy level. Everyone tells me that it is because the surgery went a little sideways and I just have to give my body time to heal from it. The dr had a hard time getting the old leads out of my back and spine, they kept breaking off and she had to keep chasing them by digging in my back as they got shorter and shorter, but she was able to recover all of them and this means that with the new device and new leads I will be able to have an MRI. I may still set off alarms at grocery stores and airports if I get too close to their security systems, but I'll be able to have an MRI and I haven't been able to have one since 2001. Thank goodness I haven't needed one. Friends came out of the wood work and helped us. They knew that my husband couldn't take care of me the way he used to so they cooked enough food for us to last a full week plus a few days more. We had breakfast lunch and dinner brought to us. It sure made my heart feel good. Now to get the rest of me feeling good. This all came at such a bad time too because we are trying to move and our house is going through the process of being sold and so much has been going on with that while I sit carefully in my recliner and try not to be in too much discomfort, as everyone manages to carry on their inspections and so forth. I did not realize there was so much to selling a house. Thankfully we don't have to pay for any of it, all we have to do is let them walk through, take the pictures, do their work and stay out of their way. The couple trying to purchase our home is a young couple that have been together since high school and are so cute together, I just adore them. I so hope that everything goes the way it should so they can have this place, they want it so badly. Well, that's as long as I can sit here for today, maybe I can manage another update later on in the week. Have a good week and be safe. ~Peace

I'm glad your surgery went well and was successful. I hope your recovery gets better and you start to feel a little better each day! And good luck with your house sale.

Thank you so much! I think everything except feeling better is going as planned. I wonder if I will ever feel better.

@trbr22 I've sold several houses and it does take a lot of time.

Thank you so much. I wish I would start feeling better so I could get back to packing. The kids that want the house are still trying to get it, it just takes time.

I really hope things go smoothly for you and your husband. I can’t imagine how stressful it has been. Thank goodness you have had some people bring some meals.

I know I answered this, I'm not seeing it now though. I apologize for that hiccup in either myLot or MySELF. Thank you for your kind words and you are right, it is a blessing to have my friends in my life. They really rallied around and helped us out.

Please take more time to heal. Have a good rest. Eat some tonic food and stay clear of anything spicy or oily right now. I too was sleeping on a recliner when I was discharged from the hospital last year.

Thank you for the advice. It seems a recliner is the only place I can get comfortable. The bed seems too flat and hard and with my recliner I can kind of curl up in it when it is laid back and it just sort of cradles me. I just need to start feeling better. I don't eat spicy foods because of my bladder disease and I don't really eat oily foods either, hardly ever get anything fried. And I can't think of anything else oily that I might eat. I'm probably eating it and don't even know it is considered oily. That's my luck!

@trbr22 In the chinese context, anything that is steamed and soup are not oily.

when i had a biopsy of my kidneys, it took me almost 2weeks to get back into my usual shape and your surgery is something even bigger. i'm glad it went good but i guess it needs more time. i'm glad you like the couple, that's usually a good sign
