Trump "couldn't care less" if his auto tariffs increase prices

This guy is so stupid. Not only does he not understand that tariffs are a tax and increase prices for Americans but he also doesn't understand how automobile manufacturing works. He said: "I couldn’t care less if they raise prices, because people are going to start buying American-made cars. I couldn’t care less. I hope they raise their prices, because if they do, people are gonna buy American-made cars. We have plenty.” He just slapped a 25% tariff on cars. . . and car parts. Um we rely on other countries to supply essential car parts. Even if you already own a car and you need a repair CONGRATULATIONS you are slapped with the 25% tariff on it. It doesn't matter if it is an American car or not. Your mechanic needs a part that comes from outside of the US? 25% tariff! I can understand his toddler-mentality that the tariff would encourage Americans to buy US cars but, um, car parts? Like I already own my Japanese-made car. I don't have any immediate plans to buy anything new. But if I need to replace something I should be punished for a purchase from 5 years ago? Of course Trump "couldn't care less". He is a ginormous bag of (well I can't say) who doesn't ever drive himself anywhere. The only thing he can drive is a golf cart. Guarantee he can't drive an actual car on regular roads let alone a highway. He has no concept of how the average American lives. He has his PACs and SuperPACs paying his bills. An increase in cost isn't going to affect him. It has been amusing to watch some of the MAGA cult members wake up over the past couple of months. He is losing support between DOGE and his stupid trade wars. He is also alienating our allies. You'd think that people who are so obsessed with country first and our power would care that he is diminishing our world standing.
