The date and walnut cake that I make is associated with Christmas as that is the time I always make it
What takes me back to my life in the city is Falooda. We went shopping mostly on weekends. Those days we did not have Malls closeby. We had to travel miles to get to the shopping centre. Afer shopping we would get to a restaurant where the best falooda was available. We would spend time there relaxing and savouring this delicious treat
Falooda has both ice cream and jelly topped by a delicious syrup. A tall spoon is provided to eat it and later when the ice cream melts you have to drink it away.

@allknowing She would bake about three of them and leave one plain. The other two would be covered with real icing- not the buttery kind l see being used these days.

@Kandae11 Actually I prefer soft icing that can be eaten while the hard icing which you say your Mom preferred I would keep it as a memory

That looks delicious!
My favorite memory of food is the Thanksgiving dressing my dear aunt of blessed memory made. She made that from scratch every single time, never ever cut corners.
