Huh?
So I had to get on the phone like a vicious viper yesterday to the big corporate office in California to transfer me to the one here in Colorado.
I got a very nice humane corporate lady that will give me a refund on our application fees as after waiting a few days to hear back, I heard nothing and was ghosted by the property management for the apartment that we applied for.
I am getting furious at all this rigmarole.
So finally I got through to the one that had showed me the apartment the other day..and she said..now get this..that apartment is no longer available..
Reason being the people that were moving changed their minds..well EF that!!
So..I was naturally furious as the place took our money for non refundable application fees for this ghost apartment.
I got on the phone and in the end, that regional manager ripped the local office manager to pieces and told them they can't do that!
So she is sending me a check for a full refund of our application fees.
However good this is, we still need a place to live.
I am so tired of these places.
Whatever can happen to go wrong, is going to happen to us, that is clear.
This is only scratching the surface of what I had to deal with and continues with these legally operated criminal property owners enterprises.
So this weekend the same, laundry and looking for places. It's snowing here.
Not a good thought to be out on the street, but then it will be overwhelming heat soon here.

I'm sorry you keep having trouble finding somewhere for you and your son to move to... I am glad the property manager is finally sending you a refund, though.
I'd be beyond angry by this point.
We're just staying home where it's dry and safe. We're in the path of the storms moving across the middle of the US that are flooding places out... Luckily, we aren't being flooded here but we are having trouble with the sewer drain caused by the high amounts of rain we're getting. (We can't flush the toilet during the heavy rain or it acts like it will overflow into the house. Yesterday I couldn't wash dishes because both sinks in the kitchen started filling up and the water wouldn't drain until after the rain stopped. I believe the sewer system was too full to admit more water at that time.)

OH it ain't the property mgr it is her boss..the one in the corporate office I had to get to ..
She the property mgr refused to refund me..
Had to go over her head to corporate office and was only lucky to get through..its infuriating spending hours arguing with imbeciles.
Oh no water issues with the storms...so sorry to read it.

@RebeccasFarm Some people just don't seem to be worth the air they're breathing.
Thanks... We'll be fine. The people in low-lying areas are having flooding problems... We can survive not being able to flush for a few hours. I can't imagine losing everything to a flood.
Weather reports are saying we're getting the amount of water that normally falls in a four month period. I know we got well over 12 inches of rain in the last two days and we still have today and tomorrow to get through.

That is rough.
It is crazy that they demand a payment for application.
I hope you find something soon.
We do not have anything exciting or necessary to do for the rest of today.
I may clean out some of the kitchen cupboards, that is a necessary job come every little while and I am due.

@Juliaacv Most of the companies are from California..all the greedy slumlords have invaded Colorado. Saw the opportunity given them with a cooperative useless Governor and took it.

@RebeccasFarm I feel it a blessing, perhaps dealing with an out of state company would not provide you with the necessary care that a place would need and repairs may take too long to have completed.

I am SOOO glad you got a nice person on the phone to deal with. That fee is such a rip-off anyway. I remember having to fork that out too. One reason I stay on here too. I hope the laundry wasn't too much and you got back okay.
I am working online, researching, and writing. Then I will watch a little telly.

That's good you're getting a refund. That's good you got on their case about it.
There are mystery shops for looking at apartments. At least the payment would cover the cost of checking things out.
We are having a visitor this weekend. I need to clean this house! Wish I could just always keep it clean.

I love cleaning but since my son and I are on different sleep schedules, I have to be quiet and can't clean like I want to. Hate that.

Good on the refund for sure! But I know, you still have to deal with finding a place. Hope that place comes up in your search very soon

@lovebuglena I think the problem with rentals at the moment are landlords can pick and choose, there are so many people that have moved here also they are more interested in housing the illegals than American citizens here in Denver. If I were an invader, I'd already have my choice..and fully furnished along with pots pans food medical care and all given to me. No problemo.
