Ding-a-ling-a-ling, it's going to be supper time in a while, quiet a while actually.
I am making fast food at home tonight. That is just my way of saying I will have the air fryer oven out for cooking.
It won't be anything fancy. Just French fries, shrimp torpedoes and a steamed veggie. Or maybe it will be baked squash, that way I can use air fryer exclusively without using the stovetop.
I love that air fryer oven, it lets me layer things to cook all at once, with staggered start times.
When you ring the supper bell, what will you have on your table tonight?

I’m making a big salad tonight. I’m putting in Brussels sprouts, diced sweet potatoes, candied pecans, grilled chicken, and some Parmesan cheese along with a vinaigrette I picked up in a backwoods store in Missouri. I stole the salad recipe from someone else, and I am looking forward to it!

@DaddyEvil Darn it, it was about an hour from that Laura Ingalls Wilder homestead and museum, I think. That’s not very helpful, I know. You find the best stuff for sale in the middle of nowhere. Country people know how to cook!

@Juliaacv I have been longing for coconut shrimp lately. They were really expensive at Kroger, but maybe Food Lion will have them for less

@snowy22315 Is there actual coconut in coconut shrimp?
I have always wondered that but rarely wear my glasses when I am out shopping.
I bought a package of 36-40 shrimp torpedoes, which we ate 10 at this meal for around $12.
That is good value.

That picture is so enticing. I like that the air fryer will let you layer things too. We will probably have chicken quesadillas or fish tacos. Not sure yet.

@celticeagle Right now we have to make due with the fruits and vegetables grown in the greenhouses or the ones that we have frozen in our deep freezers. Surprisingly enough, the stores have stopped carrying fresh produce from the US as they were literally rotting on the shelves as shoppers boycott purchasing them.
There is a delicious leaf lettuce that is sold in resealable plastic tubs that actually comes from a hothouse near Niagara Falls. We love that lettuce and it actually lasts longer than the iceburg head lettuce does.
I am all for stretching my dollar.

I had chicken & rice & veggie soup and cinnamon with a little bit of applesauce mixed in.

I eat only once a day. No breakfast; no lunch. I take dinner.I am a vegetarian. Tonight I am going to have chapaties; rice; lentils; green veggies and a glass of cow milk mixed with honey as my dinner.

I don't make myself any formal dinner, I ate a big meal in the afternoon and had sauteed sauerkraut with luncheon meat and added seasoned fries, Later a Hostess cupcake and an ice cream sandwich,
