I always found the color and type of door on a house interesting. And, I find, you can see a lot about the people who live inside by their front entrance choices. Front doors show the personal choices, cultural nuances, and spiritual beliefs of the people within. The material used is a tell-tale sign of one's priorities and preferences. A metal door is often chosen for longevity and sturdiness and they denote security. With glass, elements introduce a feeling of transparency and an open contemporary mindset. Wooden doors with natural grains and warm tones tend to convey a sense of warmth and earthiness. These types of doors are versatile befitting a grand mansion or a rustic cottage. Decorative pieces such as door knockers shed light on the owner's more intricate preferences. Some designs ward off evil or show the owner's trade. The lock and door handles may convey the owner's love for antiques or that they have more modern tastes. The condition of the door may reflect the owner's attention to detail and pride in ownership. The color chosen for a front door can speak volumes about those who reside inside. The color red is associated with warmth and hospitality whereas blue denotes a serene and trustworthy environment. It would belong to someone who enjoys peace and tranquility. A cheerful yellow would hint at an owner with a sunny and optimistic disposition. Green shows growth, balance and a lean toward the natural world. And then there is black. Sophisticated it indicates a preference for classical and understated style. Doors in earlier years showed great influence and power.

Yes, me too. And in the reverse can be that the doors are the eyes of the soul as well.

@RasmaSandra It’s “window” to the soul, not door.

I love doors too..so beautiful some of them. They are very meaningful to me. Like hobbits house doors in trees.

Many doors here are UPVC with no character whatsoever.

And many doors are bought because they are affordable.

Our door is blue (I wish they hadn't painted the wood tone) with a glass insert at the top. Very pretty.

I never really gave much thought to the significance of front doors but after reading your post it was very interesting.
