Thank you for your kind prayers and thoughts.
My daughter couldn't transfer etc. two days ago but yesterday during PT and OT, she surprised us all and was able to stand up (we kept our hands on her gate belt), and pivot to turn into a chair to sit. Before her last PT (she gets two PT a day), she stared at the stairs she couldn't lift a leg onto the day before and said she wanted to try again.
Slowly and painfully the PT walked her over and with great patience and determination, she got one leg up and then stepped up while holding onto the rails!!
Talk about a victory and sign of hope. Her mood shifted into high motivational gear and she is determined to walk out of there in 3 - 4 weeks.
She still has foot drop, weak muscles, no feeling in part of her hands (some is coming back), and other issues but progress is being made.
The doctor said she will have permanent damage and not sure if the fluid build up from the spine will go down in her ankles and feet soon but we are holding on to every win.
I hope everyone is doing well. I'll catch up later tonight.

For a few years, she was having something happening with her body and was trying to find help. She had horrific pain, burning, loss of feeling, loss of balance, and since last August, loss of feeling in her legs and a week before surgery, loss of feeling in her hands. Also lost bladder control and yet, doctors kept misdiagnosing her. On the 27th, we suggested a new ER visit at a different hospital and thankfully, a neurosurgeon was there and ordered a MRI. She immediately ordered all her other tests and looking at all the films, told my daughter, she had to have emergency surgery. Her spinal cord was compressing her nerves and she was going to be paralyzed with no return if she didn't. I don't remember all the words but it's severe spinal stenosis in the cervical spine and myelopathy. She had bone removed, fusions etc. If the other doctors would have done what they should have, it would never have advanced this far.

@noni1959 wow your poor daughter. I can’t imagine having to go through that for so long. I can’t imagine how worried and frustrated she must have been. Thank god the new doctor figured out what was going on and hopefully she got this surgery in time so she won’t have lasting effects.

That IS nice progress, then! Congratulations to her for her determination!
Some things just come slower than others.

@noni1959 I understand. I'd be really impatient, too, if I was fighting to get my body to work and had to wait on it to decide it was ready again.
