What a great night’s sleep!

I woke up this morning at 6am, and am bright eyed and bushy tailed (don’t you love that phrase). I’m starting to have some energy when I wake up, which is extremely new and exciting to me.
I feel badly for my dad though. He and my stepmom took an elderly couple to the ER Friday afternoon. After six hours and the elderly man was pronounced fine, they were set to leave, and then the elderly wife couldn’t stand up. Hours later again, at 1am Saturday they finally told my dad they would be keeping her overnight, and my dad and stepmom got to leave. But they couldn’t sleep in because my dad had a funeral Saturday morning. I talked to him yesterday evening, and he was barely keeping his eyes open.
How are you doing this fine morning?

I hope your dad is OK. I am doing OK. I'm hoping my husband's cousin is coming today because there's a lot to do.

I went back to bed until 6:30. Your dad cannot sleep in today, either, I am sure.

It seems you never really know how long these trips to the ER are going to last. Glad you are having energy in the morning.
.Do you think it is due to the new med?

I woke up for a bathroom break and will go out in a while and see if I can mow some more of the yard.
I hope your dad is feeling better today.

@DaddyEvil Uh-oh. It’s a good thing I don’t have to mow a lawn. I know I’d break the mower within five minutes. No joke. I have a talent.
The average length of my dad’s sermons are 20 minutes. He’s of the opinion people tune you out if you go much longer than that. He’s a rarity, that’s for sure.

I've never known a pastor who gave a short sermon.
Thanks... It may go faster than we want. I think the battery in the mower is dying. It only lasted about 20 minutes when Pretty was trying to mow day before yesterday instead of the 40 minutes we normally get from a full battery. (The battery still showed it had 2/3 of a charge when the mower simply refused to run anymore.)

I woke up at 3PM. My world is different. Gladly though, it wasn't too hot here. I was able to sleep during day time.
I hope your father can take a rest he needed.

Good morning.
I rarely wake as you described.
I like a quiet and slow start to the day with some coffee.
Your Dad and step mother are such generous and caring people, bless them for giving of their time and energy as they did. I hope that they find some time to catch up on their lost sleep and until then gain a second wind to carry them through the work that needs to be done before that.

I’m hoping they can get a restful nap after church today. You know how I worry about keeping them healthy.
I wish I could send you some extra energy today. I started a new medication, and while they said it could take four months to work I think it is kicking in sooner.

@AmbiePam Yeah for the meds kicking in earlier.
I think that my habit of drinking coffee is affecting the absorption of my low thyroid medication.
I have to find a time in my day when it can get absorbed without having coffee for 60 minutes or so.

I am so glad to hear that you had a good night's sleep. I know how that can be, and after awhile, we all have to have a good sleep. It's hard to function on next to none, and not fun!
Your Dad and stepmother are gems. I hope your Dad is feeling better after the kidney stone episode?

I have gotten up before 8 am for the last two mornings. Not too sure how long I can keep that up! But if the sun is out, I have a much better chance of keeping that streak and this week looks good. Next week, not so much!
I hope your dad and step mom got caught up on the missed sleep!

I had a decent nights sleep but far from being bright eyed and bushy tailed
I'm waiting for my coffee to do it's magic!
I hope that lady is okay and that your dad can get some decent rest after the weekend.

She had a blood clot in her lung. My dad called their daughter the next day (she doesn’t live near) (her son was on vacation), and then sent the grandkids to the hospital to stay the weekend with Dorothy (the elderly lady) at the hospital (3 grandkids live in the area).
That wasn’t well written. I’m sorry!
