Can you believe there might be a superfood that outperforms something as good as blueberries?
Often avoided because of its strong odor and "onion breath" onions have been overlooked.
These marvels are a member of the family that includes garlic, shallots, leeks, and scallions. They are full of vitamins B, B6 and C. Along with folate, biotin, manganese, copper, phosphorus, and potassium. These antioxidants make onions a natural antihistamine and help in fighting against heart disease, hypertension, and cancer as well as longevity and gut health. They also help with asthma, arthritis, Alzheimer's, and autoimmune conditions as well.

There aren’t many cooked meals where I don’t include onions, and garlic. Both are a great base for many sauces. Luckily I seem to be immune from the tears associated with chopping onions that many suffer from.

They are good in so many dishes. I just don't care for the Bermuda type.

Love onions, but they don’t love me (reflux).
That doesn’t mean I avoid them, though. I go to gown on salsa at the Tex-Mex restaurant I frequent!!

Sorry. I cannot stand raw onions; and will only tolerate a few cooked ones.
