What's The Etiquette for Becoming Friends With The Friend of a Friend?

United States
April 15, 2025 7:22am CST
My friend L has a friend named C. She has brought C to play cards with us a few times. C used to be her neighbor but now L has moved 20 miles away. L has said before that C gets on her nerves. So C and I are the same age (L is 6 years older). C and I graduated high school the same year, like the same music (L likes country music, C and I like pop music), C and I like the same TV shows, etc. So C wants to go line dancing with me. Without L. Am I a friend stealer if C and I end up becoming friends outside of L?

The last I checked, it's still a free country and you can choose to be friends with whomever you want.

Nothing wrong with it at all as long as there isn't bashing the other to the other...

You have every right to be a friend of whatever person you like. There is no such thing as "friend stealer".

We can never have too many friends. If you enjoy being around her go for it.

Need to be careful with both because sometime we overlook when we are close to particular person however you can't fully refuse also...
