In bengal both the green capsicum and the red capsicum are popular. While the green ones are more readily used in salad, chowmin or fried rice the red capsicum are used in different types of manchurian dishes. The taste of both the types of capsicum are different.

Are you talking about chilli peppers or bell peppers?
Red bell peppers are sweeter than green. Red, Orange and Yellow are more popular here. Green not so much and they are used in dishes where their “unripeness” can be masked with other flavours.
Red and green chilli peppers are the same as bell peppers. The red is sweeter than the green as the are riper.

Dear Aparnaji the red ones are a bit pale in taste but in a chowmin or veg manchurian they can add the taste of the food
