Which is the front?

At a country show recently we enjoyed seeing various animals, especially horses but also cattle, sheep and various smaller livestock as well.
There was a class for guinea pigs, and there were quite a few of them there of different colours and types.
This one was particularly puzzling as we couldn’t actually tell which end was the head! I guess we could have waited to see if it needed to turn around to nibble the food. Looking closely at the picture I think I might be able to see a foot, which would be a clue.
Which end would you offer a carrot?

What exactly is that supposed to be? Is it a rabbit or dog or something? It sure looks a mess. What are those flesh colored things?

I don't see a foot but is that a snout? If so, I'd say that was the front end. And that celery looks humongous.
