Purging stuff on Good Friday

We're back from a short trip to Tagaytay for some rest, fresh air, and church visits. We stayed overnight at Quest Hotel - a nice, small hotel that's right next to a Filinvest mall. I thought that was really convenient. We were there during Holy Wednesday and Maundy Thursday.
Now it's Good Friday, and I spent much of the day decluttering and purging stuff and cleaning and tidying up. I've filled up and disposed of two large paper bags with trash. I also got to change our beddings with the help of my 14-year-old. I now rely on her when heavy items need to be lifted, in this case, the mattress. There was so much dust from cleaning and sorting that I had to take a bath by noontime. I would love to sort more stuff, but it's already 8 p.m. and I don't want to feel grimy at bedtime. I will continue the purging tomorrow if we're staying home by then.
It's been really hot outside. I'm glad we've got the A/C running when I'm doing my household chores. I try to do as much as I can before we turn it off.
Have you guys done some decluttering or spring cleaning lately?

I do it when I am in a mood more because I am not sure what I shoudl keep and what I should discard.

@allknowing Perfectly all right to keep those clothes as long as you've got space.

That's my usual dilemma, too -- especially since I'm a hopeless pack rat. I've discarded so many clothes, toys, books, etc. But still kept a lot of "junk" even though I've got very little space in our new home.

We are in the process of decluttering and downsizing the whole house, garage and basement.

@almostoveryou Just my husband's 2nd cousin. And she's been canceling on me. We have 54 years of accumulation!

I hope you've got extra hands to help. It's taken us close to a year to declutter our old house of 40 years.

It's a perfect time to declutter and clean the house because of the long holidays. I am delighted to see an empty laundry basket. I also had a good rest for several days. This is the time when I could use my forced leave.

I'm glad you had a good rest. I do laundry ever day but have never really emptied the hampers.

Thank you. We certainly have our lazy days. I've been putting away our sweaters little by little. Storage is currently an issue in our new smaller home. I just might end up discarding more than I'd really want to.
