Do You Feel Like You've Made a Lot of Mistakes In Your Life?

I ruminate sometimes when I can't sleep and I play all of my mistakes and sins and embarrassments over and over again in my head. And let me tell you, there's quite a few. I just remembered one this morning from 1994 that I had completely forgotten about and it pokes out of my brain and into my memory of what a terrible stupid thing I did. Does that happen to you?

Not really, if I started thinking of all my mistakes it would be terribly depressing. I guess they can all be summed up as REALLY should have known better

@snowy22315 But that doesn’t mean we can’t or shouldn’t look back on our past. We can learn from our past experiences, we just have to be careful about getting stuck in our past.

That is one danger about trying to rehash the past. We can get caught up in a cycle of despair. We can't change what happened to us then, we can only control the present and set ourselves up for a better future.

It happens to me all the time. There are many mistakes from my past that I deeply regret, but I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for the mistakes of my past. I think our mistakes of the past are only failures if we don't learn from them and grow as individuals.

@snowy22315 But I still wish I would have done some things differently, given the chance to go back and correct the past. But I don't dwell on it, I just try to do the best I can now in the present and set myself up for good things in the future.

I go over and over the things that I've done wrong in my life all of the time. I have repented for them; and I should get over it; but I can't. I want to get a "redo" and not make those mistakes again.

Isn’t it cool though how we’re forgiven? Thank You, Jesus. I feel like most of my mistakes have been words said or not said. Sometimes those times come back to me, and I feel shame. Even though I apologized, the shame can hit me, and I have to shake it off.

There are times when those sins and mistakes would just pop up and I can't help but to think that I am still blessed that I was given a chance to correct those things. I learned from those mistakes and I am trying to be a better person.

I did take a few decisions that may not have been wise on hindsight but at that moment I had to. Overall, no regrets.
