Pete Hegseth vs the head of lettuce

If you don't get the head of lettuce reference it is about former British PM Liz Truss's extremely short tenure when one of the newspapers started a countdown and live video cam of a head of lettuce. They wanted to know which would last longer. . . and the head of lettuce won. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's tenure as the head of the Pentagon has been a disaster thus far. First his mother and former sister-in-law publicly stated that he was unfit to serve. There were allegations of alcohol issues that were so widespread that he said out loud in a confirmation hearing that he wouldn't drink if he was confirmed for the job. Then there was the whole Signal scandal where he was posting classified and sensitive information in a group chat before and while the US military was performing an operation against the Houthis in Yemen. Now there is news that there was a second Signal chat about the same issue that included his wife and brother. Trump always refuses to admit that he's made a bad decision so of course today he posted today on his failing social platform that he is "strongly" standing by Hegseth. This is after Pentagon employees are resigning and getting fired while other people are leaking that the place is in turmoil. So now it is being reported that the White House is already looking to find a replacement for him with a former Pentagon spokesman and former national security advisor both saying that he will likely be gone within 3 months. ONLY. THE. BEST. PEOPLE.

@njchicaa That lettuce could have done a better job as PM than Liz Truss. How do these people float to the top?

"Head of lettuce" I see that ugly brown rotten area on the bottom of the lettuce when you say that.

Hopefully he'll be gone soon but who will take his place? That's possibly a big worry too.
