I'm glad there are no worms in the first mango of the season. That augurs well for the rest of your crop.
And, thank you. Mango isn't my favorite fruit but I would try a small bite of it.

@Shiva49 We had several varieties in our garden - thothapuri, mundappa, bellari, neelam and benet alphonso We now have just three - benet alphonso, mundappa and neelam each with their own characteristics,
I suppose one gets used to a particular variety and tends to believe they are the best. Atleast you got to learn about different varieties being there in different countries.

@allknowing Alphonso is liked by many and I did have a bite a few days ago.
I share an anecdote concerning mangoes. While I was in Indonesia, the topic became a lighthearted debate. Indians were talking about mangoes and a Pakistani gentleman said their mangoes were much sweeter. My Sri Lankan friend pitched in for Jaffna mango as the best. Then the Indonesian chipped in that their Harum Manis (Sweet Fragrance) and Mana Lagi (bring me more) were his favorites. Once we are used to one variety we tend to like them.

@jaylar Mangoes do not tolerate rain and that is the time they get infested.
