This was meant to just be a quickie, but it ended rather abruptly last night. My cousin notified me that my aunt (her mom) passed away. This wasn’t unexpected. She’d been battling cancer for three years. As all of you who’ve been through this know, however, that doesn’t make it any easier. I had planned this jaunt (as much as I ever “plan” anything) to be close to home just in case they called my brother and told him they were moving his surgery up. I didn’t plan on running home for another reason. But it was still a beautiful two days. And, after I got the message from my cousin, I went out for dinner…and saw this rainbow. A beautiful sight by which to remember a beautiful woman.

Thank you so much. My pain is dwarfed by my cousin’s. Her mom was also her best friend, her sounding board, her confidante, and her housemate. That was pretty much how my mom and I were, and the pain was unmeasurable.

It was so close to sunset that I didn’t know if the sun would appear long enough to make a rainbow. Oh, but it did.. TWO of them! And they were “full” rainbows as well!

My deepest condolences for your loss. You're right. I was prepared but not prepared for dad to pass from Hodgkin lymphoma

@FourWalls You're welcome. It's been a long time since I've seen a rainbow at all. That's the bad part of having so many trees around our house.

Sorry about your aunt. Is that a double or a reflection. Either way it's beautiful

Double. The second rainbow is technically a reflection, because the colors are reversed from the first one. Thanks for your concern.

I am sorry. I know that just because we know it's going to happen (darn cancer!!) we are still not ready when it does, and no, it isn't easy. What a beautiful message, as you say, to remember a lovely woman.

It has been a long time that I have not seen the rainbow. I hope I could see it again during the rainy days.

I love seeing rainbows! I would be upset if I went a long time without seeing one.

I am so sorry for your loss I can imagine how you feel and the pain you must feel as I too lost my dad in 2022 to lung cancer and I have a difficult time till today accepting that my dad is gone.
