Call it bad manners but I can't help reading those slogans on T shirts. Slogans or messages whatever you call them. If there is any other right word to describe them, I don't know it. Please do enlighten me. What else they are meant for if not for reading by the people passing by! Recently, I saw an electrician wearing a T- shirt that had words which sent me meditating on them. Were they exclaiming applause or were they derogatory to a large part of humanity ? Please don't be offended for they are not my words. I'm just reproducing them here. As an Indian I'm taking my part with a smile . The placard read as follows: Drink like a Russian Drive like a German Kiss like the French Wear like an Italian And spit like an Indian!

@franxav I try not to read what people have written across their chests, especially if they are female - I could get in trouble doing that.

@AmbiePam I also don’t like it when young ladies in the waitressing profession wear name badges that are pinned on their chests in such a way as makes them difficult to read, and I have to stare at those chests to decipher what is written.

That’s quite interesting. I wore a t-shirt the other day that wasn’t mine, but it was convenient and I was running out for a quick errand. I was standing in line when I noticed a guy reading the words on it. I suddenly got embarrassed when I remembered the slogan, and turned around in embarrassment. I’ll never do that again!

Okay, now I want to know what the t-shirt said.

@DaddyEvil It said, “Help! I’ve eaten & I can’t get up!” Underneath the words was a picture of bacon.

@AmbiePam What's embarrassing about that? My favorite tee shirt looks like it has something written in Chinese on it but, if you look at the writing sideways, it says "F*ck this sh*t!"

It's not rude. If the wearers don't want people to read the slogans they shouldn't wear them. I read them too.

Ultimately, the purpose of such slogans is to grab attention, provoke a reaction (whether laughter, thought, or even offense), and communicate something quickly and visually. They are definitely designed to be read and often to spark a conversation, even if it's just an internal one!

I read slogans on T Shirts as well. I can't help myself, that's why people wear them with slogans so other people will read them. I don't believe it is bad manners.
