U. S. Government Has Been a Slow-Moving Behemoth

That's why people aren't understanding the things that President Trump is doing. He's not "creating chaos" - he's "shaking things up." He knows what he's doing, folks. Can't you see it? The tariffs were just the way to get the players to the table to negotiate and low and behold, U.S. businesses are going to start making their products in the USA again. Imagine that. Aren't you tired of the United States being the bank for the rest of the world? Aren't you tired of everybody holding their hands out wanting something from the USA? President Trump is evening the playing field and making our so-called international "partners" more accountable. The slimming down of the U.S. Government workforce was long overdue. It has had people getting paid for doing nothing for decades. Too much redundancy and not enough productivity. Tons of waste. So what if President Trump did it quickly in his first 100 days rather than draw it out? Democratic Senators have long blasted government waste but never done anything about it. They talk the talk but they don't walk the walk. So yeah, President Trump has people's heads spinning. You don't know what he's doing to do next. That's a GOOD thing, people, that's a good thing.

I have long said that all "big government" is, is a way to employ friends, family, and the friends and family of political interests. I think we've known for years there's a lot of "excess" in government, and like it or not, it takes a businessman to be in the White House to know what that looks like and be best equipped to trim it. In business, efficiency is everything, and clearly the government is not run efficiently. It's time that taxpayers get what they are paying for. I trust Trump knows exactly what he is doing and find it unfortunate he gets such a bad deal when all he has ever been interested in is looking out for the American people and American interests. I don't think anyone will leave him alone, unfortunately, and regardless of what good he does, he'll never get as much credit for it as he deserves. Perhaps 50 years from now his accomplishments will be more visible and people will judge him more fairly. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The US Government has been long overdue for cutting waste, but hope they don;t cut to the people who most need help. It's about time they did this though.

I agree but sadly the organizations that get monies to help the ones most in need only use a very small percentage of it to help them.

Have you ever heard the analogy of the frog in a pot of water? Put it in boiling water and it’ll jump out, but put it in comfortable water and slowly raise the temperature and the frog will stay. The government became the monster it is the slow way, where people didn’t realize how hot it was getting in the kettle. He’s moving fast because he doesn’t have the luxury of the decades that it took to bloat the government. At best, four years and maybe two, depending on the midterms.
