I needed a change in my life. Have you ever needed a change in your life?

I had a good day at Guitar Center today. Both Gunnar and Matt were a delight to teach. Plus I had a new (guitar) student who seemed really enthusiastic. He is maybe eight. I sent him home with some simple chords to practice. When I got home, I was hungry. But not hangry. I knew I needed something filling, and something new. I have put some Maria Callender's Chicken and Gravy in the oven. I have never had it before. It has corn and mashed potatoes on the side. I will provide a review in the comments. Have you ever just needed something new, no matter how small, in your life?

I do think so. I think we all do at one point or another in our lives. It's just how life works sometimes.

I hope you enjoyed your meal, pony... Once in a while I'll pull out the family cookbook and try a recipe from it that we haven't tried before. Sometimes that means we add a new recipe to our regular menu plans and sometimes it means we wonder how my family came up with things that aren't good to eat, in our opinion. The family cookbook is one put together by several of the cooks in our wider family. I was given the cookbook about 30 years ago at a family reunion and have used it sparingly since then. Most of the time we enjoy the recipes in it that we've tried.

@TheHorse While I was growing up, I always wondered how anyone could eat okra. And mom couldn't make a decent meatloaf to save her life. It always pissed her off that I wouldn't eat either one of those so-called "foods". I make meatloaf once in a while and mine tastes fine... But I leave out the bread in the recipe and don't cook the meatloaf until it's lost all flavor.

@DaddyEvil Heh. I discovered okra for the first time when I lived in Southern Indiana. The Horror.

Everyone needs a change in life if not then life will be like hell, like what I am doing.. why am I here.. questioning ourselves. Life will be lost. So better have some change in your life no matter what.

I am something of a creature of habit. A small change now and again is a good thing. I hope you find a job you like!

Gardening (on a very small scale) is one of my favorite stress-obliteraters as well.

I need something new in my life that is not food related, but it is hard to let go of the old.

I used to have mostly meat in my meal. But I slowly switch to a meal with more veggies. I still eat rice and meat but on a smaller serving.

@TheHorse For me, eating veggies is just fine. Fresh lettuce combined with sliced cucumber and some sweet corn topped with salad dressing. I also like veggies cooked in coconut milk. I feel lighter with this kind of meal.

Are the veggies satisfying? That's an area where I like "balance."

This one was OK, but not good enough that I'd buy it again. The corn was the best part!

Glad you had a good day at the Guitar Center. I am tired of all the things I now eat but have no idea what to order next month. Talk about needing change, I wish my mom was here and in the kitchen cooking.

Yes, and more often. Lately, when I grocery shop, I look for one new thing to try.

Oh, yes. Being a foodie, I am always wanting to try something new and different. Too bad it wasn't better. I once had a contest with my boyfriend. We both did fried chicken and mashed potatoes to see which was the best. I think it was a tie. Have a wild weekend.

Most definitely. Coming here was such a huge change. The house-sitting was a godsend at the time.

I hope that you enjoy it. I love changes especially with meals, else it becomes monotonous. I keep trying variations in the same dishes or some new recipes.

Most definitely. Variety is the spice of life, right? In the real world I currently live in, I would settle for a break...but I don't see one in the near future, so I am going to try to forget about that for now.

I have been thinking of doing something new as well. However, I already have a lot in my plate though.
