I’m being blackmailed.

Someone has been trying to blackmail me recently. Maybe you know what it’s like. I’ve been getting emails claiming that the sender has installed malware in my computer. Part of the deal is that he/she/it can now access the camera on my computer and they have recorded me doing unspeakably naughty things while watching porn. Now I’m quite settled in my own mind that there are no recordings because I know I have never done any such things. So I’ve set it all aside and have in no way engaged with the would-be blackmailer. Still, though, it is quite unsettling to think that someone is threatening me in this way. I can imagine some people would be more than unsettled if such sick threats were aimed at them. But nothing can be done. They hide and are experts at covering their tracks. I’d hate to be a person like that who sits at a screen dreaming up cruel schemes to try to get money out of strangers. How sad is that?
