I'm Liking Dairy Queen

And gosh, Warren Buffett will be happy about that. Did you know that Warren Buffett owns Dairy Queen? Well, now you do. Well, Berkshire Hathaway does. But Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway are practically one in the same. They've got a great bargain on their $7 meal deal that comes with an original cheeseburger, fries and sundae of choice along with a soft drink. I'm not into ice cream or sundaes, so today I just got a double original cheeseburger and order of onion rings. Even that was only about $8. Plus, their burgers are juicy and good. I've always avoided Dairy Queen for whatever reason, but I think I am going to frequent them more often from now on. The price is right and the food is good. What more could I ask for? Plus, I still feel like Dairy Queen is a bit of an underdog, and I like supporting underdogs too.

Oh yeah. The Dairy Queen's in the United States have a full menu with burgers, chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches, as well as ice cream.

@rakski You'd think they'd have the expanded menu there as well. I am sure Filipinos enjoy a good burger from time to time.

Are they the ones that have a weird sauce on the burgers like mayo, mustard and ketchup all mixed up?

@porwest We stopped somewhere, maybe it was Whataburger that has some weird sauce on it. It's all mixed up and wasn't a compliment to the burger at all. I am going to have to get my hubby to try Dairy Queen again. He has had bad experiences there before, but I always liked them.

@kareng Most places I go to I like. Some places have been "meh." Many of them are places we don't have here that I only get on travels like Bojangles, Whataburger, Zaxby's and Jack's. All of those have been "meh" to us.

I have not seen that. Maybe they do? The "original" has just ketchup, mustard, and pickle on it. Burger King's Whopper, on the other hand, has mayo, ketchup, and mustard on it.

I often support underdogs too. It sounds like Dairy Queen is worth supporting.

@porwest I checked and there are no Dairy Queens in Australia. We do have Wendys which used to be just ice-cream but a new Wendys restaurant has opened in Queensland now.

I've been to one several times in my life. Although, not as many times as I have been to many of the others.

I remember visiting Dairy Queen stores in both Panama and the U S and they are underrated in terms of being excellent in terms of their products.

They really are good. Like I said, I always avoided them for whatever reason. But I think they deserve more of my business.

We don't have Dairy Queen here. We patronize Jollibee and McDonald's fast foods whatever they sell.

We don't have any Jollibee's here, or at least not close by. The nearest one to me is in Chicago.

We also have Dairy Queen in some malls in the central city but not in our place. I had tried DQ Blizzard and it's one of their most popular product.

The Blizzard is certainly what they are most known for.

My hubby really liked their burgers. My choice is the chicken tenders box -- with Honey BBQ sauce, fries and garlic toast. YUM!

I never gave Dairy Queen a thought for food items other than an ice cream sundae. Those prices are reasonable! Maybe I should consider DQ-ing with Warren and you. Good stock and good eats...
