straightening out or not

I got a phone call last night from the gym: hubby owes us money. What!? He is on the same insurance plan as me. He called the Silver Sneakers folks this morning. They said he wasn't on that plan anymore. Another what!? We went to the gym's front desk. OH. Now that we switched to United Healthcare we are on another program that I never heard of . Wellness? or some such. Not Silver Sneakers. Anyway, the very capable manager of the gym unsnarled the mess and no neither of us pays for the pool. That pool payment would add up quickly- its over 40 dollars a month for one person. Ouch.
35 minutes in the pool this morning. I am so very proud of my hubby. A well meaning lady stopped me this morning and basically congratulated me for getting my hubby to the pool. The lady was also very bent over and had an obvious back issue. I thanked her and congratulated her for getting herself to the pool. I know she meant well. Just kind of icky encounter. Hubby and I make quite the sight, I am sure. He just shuffles and is so little and thin now. BUT he is going to the pool now. I am delighted that we have this safe way to exercise. And if he doesn't want to go to the pool you can bet he won't- I can't drag him anywhere.

I'm glad insurance still covers you both for the pool and hope your hubby enjoys it as much as you do.

@DaddyEvil Hi! Thanks. I think hubby is amazed at how wiped out he gets from exercising in the water. I've gone off and on for years. He is finally understanding the impact of water workouts.

@sallypup You're very welcome. I wish there was a pool I/we could go to around here.

@DaddyEvil Maintaining a pool is expensive. But I think pools are undervalued for rehab. I think pools should be as important a tool as medication.

It’s great that you can both get to the pool …..a lot of people would have given up.
At least you found out about the change in plan before you racked up a hefty bill

Thanks @Traceyjayne. There are people using the pool that use walkers when they get out. Totally motivates me to keep going.

Thank goodness that got straightened out. I don't think my plan has Silver Sneakers..even if they did, I would probably have to drive somewhere far away to use it. There was a gym right in the little town that closed down..a couple of other ones didn't last long either.
