LOL I can understand that. They're a little bigger than what I would like for a house dog, but I really like big dogs. I have 4 dogs now & the biggest is 75 lbs & the smallest is 35, but he's only 4mo old. :) Pugs are cute too. I've never had one though.

My husband and I have two great danes. They are the best dogs. The main thing is to keep up to date on their health to help them live as long as possible since their lifespans are so short to begin with.

Thank you so much for the advice. If I do end up getting one, I'll keep that in mind. Although, I think that's basically tru for any breed.
Thanks for the response.

My wife used to have a pack of over 20 adult Great Danes,
they were great family members. At the time, we lived on
24 acres in Port Angeles, Washington. To get better care
for our autistic daughter, we felt we had to move to Mexico,
so we found great homes for most of our Great Dane Friends,
bringing only one, Princess, with us to our new home, where
we have also adopted a Dalmatian, two Boxers, two Rotweilers,
and three Rotweiler puppies. All but the Rotweilers and
Princess are spayed.
Princess is getting old; but she is the leader of our pack
to this day; although we think our male Rotweiler, Rex, is
taking over that position.

I have a Great Dane. He is a wonderful dog! He is the kindest and happiest dog I have ever known. He will be two years old on Wednesday. He is small for a Great Dane, only 130lbs., but he is AKC bred; it's just he was the "runt" of his litter! He was sold to us as pet quality only, but little did we know that we'd bought a Border Collie in the body of a Great Dane. Our Great Dane has so much energy and is so agile that I've started training him to do dog agility. He loves to jump through the tire but sometimes gets stuck in the tunnel. LOL! We'll work on it. From what I understood Great Danes are supposed to be big couch potatoes. Not mine! While, for all those Great Dane admirer but non-owners out there, I can highly recommend them. I have four dogs, and my Great Dane is the friendliest in the back.

Your Great Dane seems like he's a lot of fun. :) I have known a few energetic Great Danes, but the majority of them are usually really laid back. Good luck with the tunnel. :)

I don't have a great dane, however, the petco that I take my pitbull to one of the worker's has a great dane named Scooby! He is the most adorable goofy dog I've ever seen. I want one but my husband always ask me what am I going to do with a pony! LOL But I'll eventually talk him into getting one! Great post!

Awww! You have a Pit Bull. :) Those are easily just as good as Danes. LOL My husband always asks me the same question when I suggest getting a Great Dane or a St. Bernard.

It is a good thing they have a kind temperament. My sister had one. It would get lonely when everyone was at work. One day it ate her couch. Stuffing was everywhere. It was a very sweet dog though.

Sounds like they should have kept it in a crate while they were gone. But, yes, I love their personalities & temperaments. :) Thank you for your response.

I have two great danes.....LOVE THEM! They both are big babies but they are such good companions!! They're a tad bit clumsy, but I can't imagine life without them. They're also great pals to our two children!

Thank you for responding. :) I love every Great Dane I've ever met. My cousin used to have one when we were little & we used to ride it like a horse! LOL
