SInce we don't get paid to make comments to the responses on our topics, I was thinking of not commenting to every response. I will rate them all, but only comment when I feel the need. Would you still post if someone didn't commont, only rated? I give positive ratings for anything other than one word or off topic answers.

I think posting comments under responses is a good thing because it prove you follow discussions you have started and some members like this. I comment every response to my discussions if thay have more than one word, because I don't like one word responses. I don't use rating a lot but if I'm tired I could use it because it's better than no response and no rating.

I started out commenting on every response, and I'd still like to, but I'm just running out of time.
I don't get to come here as much as I'd like to start with.
I don't think it's rude to not comment.
It makes you feel good because you know it was read, but not rude if not.
I hope no one thinks I'm rude, I've hardly left any comments the past few days, but as I say time is an issue.

I add comment to all my responders. Some of them would have taken great pains to write interesting response and I do write a word of praise for their efforts. It is nice to read the response and some of them require comments. Whether money comes or not, I do comment.

I know we don't get added for another post for responding to ones on our own pages, but I always try to repond to all. Sometimes I just get tired of saying the same thing over and over again, but a lot of times I do respond. I just like to go back and see what someone posted under mine. That's why I respond to most.

ok, it's just that I am on dial up and it takes a long time to respond to all. I do it now, I was just thinking I didn't have to. I've never had a topic with more than about 50 responses, and the top topics have a lot more sometimes with no comments at all.

I don't respond to all of them but I do to most.I think if people have taken the time to respond assuming it is relevant to the discussion I will make a response back.If of course it's only one or two words then there is no need to respond back to them.

I do make a comment to every response for all of my discussions. I think it is only polite to acknowledge someone responding plus it keeps the discussion alive, and gets more responses. It might just be that I give a "thanks for responding" but in some cases I say more than that of course.
Any response that is inappropriate, I will make a comment to that effect. Any "cut and paste" response from an earlier response gets reported to myLot now plus I make a comment to the effect that they have taken someone else's response.
I give a best response and if I feel it is warranted, then I will also give positive ratings to other responses. It does take up time of course, but I feel it is well worth the effort all the same. :)

I only comment when I have something to say, I dont really see the point of just thanking everyone for their post :)

yes, i agree.... commenting on the responses that you get keeps the discussion alive... and i guess it's just proper... after all, they took the time to respond... i feel that it's nice if you'd comment on their answers, too, and thank them.
if you start a discussion, and people start answering, they'd wonder where you went if you'll just leave the question as is.. it's like you're leaving seeds on the ground, and expecting it to grow... it might... yes, for a while... but it won't last long...

Hey Pookie! I try to make comments to most of the responses. Some don't rate a comment or even a rating. Sometimes I will comment on how brief their response was or how it didn't relate to the topic. I still think many are still in the get the post done quickly to increase earnings mode. I wonder if I should give a negative rating for the one word posts. Do you think that is appropriate?
