Do you find yourself to be overly headstrong when it comes to your religion and unwilling to learn about other religions or are you open minded? Why? I am very open and like to learn about all sorts of religious beliefs and paths and do my best to educate my children as well but its not something I was raised with. There was no religion in our house at all growing up...I think its important for us to be open minded..being open to other paths doesnt betray the path we are on and I think that if ppl took the time to learn more about various religions and spiritual paths it would give them a better insight and understanding to ppl around them which IMO is never a bad thing...

I like learning about different religions and beliefs. I find them fascinating. Personally as far as what someone chooses to follow I think it is their choice. As long as they made the choice of their own free will and are happy with it then I could care less what their beliefs are. I think the more we know about each others religions we might also understand our own a bit more. It can give us a different view point for our own and add to our own beliefs. Learning about others doesn't take away from what we believe in, it's just allowing that others have another view.

beautifully put! and I agree....and in all honesty, I dont understand why some feel that learning about other religions and paths etc would be almost an insult to their personal path or a betrayal even ya know...that never made any sense to me...

I am not open minded as far as going to believe any religion. But I do enjoy learning about all religions and view them all pretty much equally. I've never disliked someone just for their religion. Although, possibly for how they've tried to push it on me. I don't have a lot of Christian friends because it seems like as soon as they find out I'm an atheist, they can't stand it and want to "save" me.

I try to learn about other religions so that I can understand them better. I believe that what matters most is how we practice it in good faith not the religion itself. Ultimately, it is the Supreme Being we want to serve and not the religion itlself. By being aware of other people's religion makes it easier to respect their practices.

im not an open minded person when it comes to religion...i believe in my religion(christianity)and have real faith in god...he has answered my prayers at many times and i dont think i should be going away from his path...i kno he loves me and i love him too...i think being open minded about religion wont get u anywhere in life... its like u cant do 2 things at the same time... i dont get it how guys can be open minded when it comes to religion...theres only 1 god(which i believe)and there is now way u can can learn all the religions together...u need to focus your mind at the religion which u think is right and not going behind all the religions...it wont take u anywhere otherwise

Really? you feel that being open minded is a go nowhere type thing? wow..I believe the opposite, being openminded is being educated to the ways of others which helps to understand others and that cant be a bad thing IMO Thanks for your reply too btw

Even I am extremely open minded when it comes to religion. I also say and feel that I don't believe in religions I believe in spirituality. But still when it comes to religion I feel like learning and following all the traditions and belief of all religions. I really don't understand this! One side I say I don't believ in religion and other side I feel like following all religions!

I have no religion, and I am very open-minded about other religions, I like to read about them, learn about them, respect them, as long as I am respected by those who believe them.

hi i'm very open minded about other religions. i mean --- how CAN you judge someone by his caste/religious background ? does it really change someones view if the person is a hindu/christian/muslim/jewish ??? what difference does it make ? I really fail to understand why there are religious riots/differences/discriminations - makes no sense to me !

I see my self as very open to learning about other religions, though I am very definit about my own faith. I am a Christian, but I have taken a lot of religiou courses at secular univeristies which have forced me to challenge and evaluate my own beliefs. However, I feel my belief would be irresponsible and shallow if I did not force it to meet these challenges. Only by learning about other religions and how they compare to my own can I be truly satisfied in my own beliefs. Furthermore, I think it is important to know about other religions in order to reach their followers, becuase if I am ignorant of someone's beliefs i cannot really tell them how my beliefs are different, or why they should be open to my beliefs over their own.

Unfortunately for a lot of people, religion becomes an identity.....we're so used to saying 'I'm catholic, or i'm hindu or i'm buddhist' that we sometimes forget that we are all primarily human beings. Each religion teaches you something and being open minded only allows one to get enriched - and doesn't diminish one in any way. I was raised in a particular religion but have never steadfastly stuck to it. It hasn't stopped me from visiting other religious places of worship or celebrating other religious festivals with friend. At the end of the day, if you believe in a supreme power, all roads lead to HIM

I am open minded to other religions. I enjoy learning about other religions. But also, as I learn about other religions, it make my faith stronger in my own religion. I will not sit there and preach to anyone about my religion. But if I am asked a question, I will answer it honestly. As also, the more indepth the question, the more indepth my explanation. However, I have been preached and yelled at by people about my religion. The funniest thing is, even though I will have few comments to defend myself..as in, each person must find their own way...I am still preached to saying there is only one way. I have once sat there for a few hours while a friend just couldn't understand why I would not choose Christianity when I have such a good heart. Even though I felt very hurt because I felt under attack, I respected my friend's religion and just let the preaching continue. This is what that person was taught and I respected that. Doesn't mean I liked it or appreciated it. But I let the person talk it out. In the end, the friend walked away and relized that I had an extreme amount of patience and respected me because of it. Even though I still choose not to be Christian, the person is still my friend and will try not to preach to me again. If that is not being open minded and respectful...then I don't what is.

Being a Muslim convert who alsogoes tochurch and follows Buddhism, i find religions are what turned us from uncivilized animals into civilized beings. I respect all religions, and enjoy studying other religions, ineach theres much to be learned. Have a nice day.

I'm basically open to all religions as long as their members are not fanatic. I don't think that fundamentalism is the right way (and that counts for muslims as well as for christians, jews and all other religions). Of course I'm convinced that for my christianity is the only right way (otherwise I wouldn't be christian ;)), but that doesn't mean that it's the right way for everyone else too! I guess for someone else, the islam can be the right believe, just as christianity is for me. I think that we basically pray to one and the same God and it doesn't matter which religion we belong to. -The basic message of all religions is the same: Love everyone as much as you love yourself!
