TYPING ALL IN CAPS, IS IT REALLY ANNOYING, OR ARE WE JUST A BIT NUROTIC?

It's considered shouting, and will make non-newbies think there's something wrong with you.

Yes, I do think typing in all caps is annoying. It's also less effective. Caps can indicate anger or stressing a point, and if you type a word or a sentence in all caps people can tell that it's important. But, if everything is in caps, it just looks like mindless ranting. I also agree that if hitting the shift key is hard, than all lowercase is less annoying. I type with two fingers as well.

It annoys the heck out of me. Even if I am typing something that is suppose to be in all caps, I have to make myself do it.

yes its really annoying and sometimes i cant understand what is written in caps.. i have to read it one more time to get it.. i really hate it.. caps are for the beginning of the sentence, places, names and thats it guys..please people stop typing all in caps...

It's annoying, unneccassary, and will egt you ignored. If you're are able to type at all you're able to hit the shift key. Ever since the beginning of the internet, over 25 years now, allcaps has been considered bad form. It should be reserved only for emphasis on a certain secment of your message. If you post everything in capslock you look lazy and uneducated. Wether or not you are, that's how you look. You're not going to change that now. force

I find that capitals are harder to read plus when I first started on the internet I was told that typing in capitals is rude. Sometimes I will put capitals in where I want to stress a word or two but never more than that. i don't think it has anything to do with typing skills or how well a person is educated at all.

It is considered computer etiquette and as said above considered as shouting

i think people who do it (ie you) are annoying, and in many forums people are banned/kicked out if they do... i wish mylot would adopt some rule like that.

I don't think it's annoying, I guess it depends on the individual, is there a reason for typing in all caps? Now is that what you were taught is school? I remembered only certain things are to be caps, it changes the whole english language, it just tells me people who do it are not well educated or they have other issues. That's my opinion.

It has always annoyed me as well. Along with the way people say "h r u" instead or "how are you" etc.

I always just assume if it's capitalized, that it means it's important or that the person would be raising their voice if they were actually talking to me in person. I don't really find it annoying, no.

I normally consider it to be shouting, unless its just a word or phrase that i feel that they are just highlighting for empahsis, no shouting intended

I dont like all caps. It hard to read.

It is my under standing that by typing in all caps you are shouting at someone.I personally don't take offense to it and try not to do it.

Typing in all caps is annoying. It means a person shouting. It should not be done unless there's a joke involved to denote shouting.
