Are you sick of hearing about celebrity "scandals"?

I am pretty sick of hearing about celebrities who are racist or alcoholic or unfaithful to their spouses. I am sick of hearing about how people are criticizing Madonna for adopting a little African boy. There are number of reasons for that criticism. She ok'd it with the parents, and the boys will be raised in a plush, well stocked environment. I personally think she has done something noble. How many times did you see Mr. Richard's prejudicial outburst? I saw him apologize twice on different programs and he seemed totally sincere. Poor guy...why won't the media give him a break now? Same with Mr. Gibson. These people are only human. We don't need to hear their same stories over and over and over. I agree, they are high profiles and people are interested, but we don't need to hear it endless times to get the bit of interest out of it that we desire!

Yeah, I think so many people get worn out over what the celebs are doing, etc. Face it, they're not 'real people'.. they have millions, live a totally different life and aren't our 'friends' that we need to know what they're up to. I personally can't imagine having so little to do in life that I worry about what a celeb is doing! Then again, I'm sitting here on Mylot typing! lol

I cannot stand all these stupid things that we hear about celebrities doing.... they know how to manipulate the media into giving them what they want, and when they do everyone is surprised.... is it not obvious to the media that half the stuff they do is accident and half is on purpose?

My guess is the majority is on purpose, just for attention like a spoiled child.

ITs annoying how the press thinks that the only thing people are interested in are hearing scandles OVER AND OVER again. once, maybe. but a thousand times? I dont think so. Did you know in 2000 Michael Jackson was mentioned over 30000 times in the news in one year while darfur was mentioned 2ce? We really need to straiten out the media and the priorities it has.

I get pretty sick of hearing about the media picking apart the celebrtities and interfering with their lives so much. I think they've left it alone for now, but I was getting pretty sick of hearing about rumors that Suri Cruise (Katie Holmes' baby) did not belong to Tom, but rather to her ex- Chris Kline). Obviously the baby is Tom's, she looks just like him! Now what's really bugging me is the whole Madonna thing. She has done something very kind by adopting a little boy (it shouldn't matter where he's from, but still the media insists on suggesting that it's for all the wrong reasons.

Again, I have to agree with you. Does anyone ever question the paternity of Mrs. Jones baby over on Maple Street in Anytown? Nope, I don't think so.

It`s one of the draw backs of being a celebrity every move they make ,it`s reported on . I think that it`s a shame and i thank god that i`m who i am for that reason The media should just leave them all alone.I don`t want to know what they are doing at any time.I don`t read any article about them i just don`t care

It's true, we can just choose not to read. The problem is the headlines and tv and radio report these things everywhere. Unless you are a total media hermit, you have to hear some about everything.

i am very tired of hearing celebrity scandals and that is becuase....NO one cares.personally i think that celebrities are just a ploy to take our minbd off of the media, but in reality it's just making things worse becuase people are taking sides of petty arguements.

there is nothing wrong in writing about celebrity scandals because if someone has nothing else to do they can read them at their leisure. I personally don't like reading such kind of scandals because they are not doing any good to me neither i am related to them. its their life....let them live how they want to! who are we to interfere? its as simple a logic as this-do we appreciate if somebody tries to peep into our personal lives? no we don't.....similarly we should not be curious about whats being cooked in somebody else's kitchen. i feel its a wastage of time....

Yeah I'm fed up of hearing about them but unfortunetly it makes money for no press and they know this so that's why it's slammed all over the pappers and tvs. If it was any normal person it wouldn't be but because these people are recognised by everyone it makes all the difference. If no one knew who they were then it wouldn't make the papers but because there famous it makes all the difference.

I agree that too much is made of celebrity mistakes. These people are human just like the rest of us. They are no better or worse than we are and they are certainly not going to be perfect for us all of the time. Get over it when they goof. Just because they are high profile people doesn't mean they don't do things they regret. And when they do good things we shouldn't put them down for it, we should be looking at ourselves to see what we can do for others. We all have regrets and we all have stars in our crown from time to time. Fame doesn't change that, it just gets you more attention for it.

Maybe we should start having a reporter stand outside the home of some Joe and then make a big deal out of it when he locks his keys out of his car or steps in a pile of dog poop on his way out to the mailbox.

There is an old adage that goes with fame...publicity is publicity doesn't matter if it is good or bad, as long as they get the name right. Sadly people like you and me promote this kind of thing. Some perhaps too many buy magazines with such things in them increasing sales thus the continuation of the promotion. Scandals are the bread and butter of gossip, and you have to admit gossip about someone you don't know personally is much safer (in keeping friends) than gossip about your neighbor. Until the public appetite wanes, and sales drop such things will continue to be put forward in magazines, newpapers and on television. I hate to say it but, it's our own fault.

I see your point. There is a great deal of truth to it. As for me, I don't buy magazines and newspapers and I spend very little time watching news or reading it online. Too bad the rest of the world wouldn't join me. I suppose, they need feel INFORMED.

To be honest I am more sick of hearing about political scandals, or people in government positions who gets involved in scandolous activities like fraud etc. In South Africa, is almost a weekly new expose on the latest political figure involved in some fraudulant behaviour. I wish we could have honest people in government!!!

Ummmm Michael Richards apologies don't sound overly sincere to me. One does not use words such as he used unless he meant them. Mel Gibson uses being drunk as an excuse. Racism is UGLY and my sympathy does not go to those who have behaved in a racist manner. As for Madonna, I think she did exactly what she was supposed to do and I hope she has a wonderful life with all of her children.
